... And prove to be even more dogturd than we first thought?

Plenty of candidates here - and I'm sure the usual suspects will plump for Lucas, N'gog, Voronin, Aurelio, etc.

I'm plumping for El Zhar. I think I'd prefer Bubba, the double-amputee victm from Forrest Gump on our right-wing than that no-trick pony.

Who do you fancy? Any controversial ones? Alonso? Skrtel? Riera?

I do think Skrtel may struggles if Agger gets more starts -

I think Kuyt & Benayoun will struggle to replicate last year's form but I hope I"m wrong.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I really don't think they hype bestowed on Insua from this forum is entirely justified.

He could prove to be the one that this thread was fashioned for really. Hope not mind you.

Insua has shown a fair bit of promise. I'm pretty sold on him being our LB for a while but I understand where you're coming from ...

Another player, and don't slate me for this, is Carragher ... He'll still be our best CB but I can see him slipping slightly from the standards he's set ...

Fair enough, risky call.

Personally I thought he was outstanding for the vast majority of last season, and only dropped his standards in the last few games when he was fucked. He played too many games, and told the tale of it towards the end.

He's still the best centre-back at the club, and he'll still play more games than Skrtel and Agger, but the odd rest throughout the season wouldn't do him any harm.

Yossi will be become an even bigger player in the team next season.[/quote]

I worry it's the exact opposite.

I don't understand why some people are still prepared to give Lucas Leiva more time to prove himself. I know he is young and it was his first season in England but I saw absolutely nothing that would lead me to believe that he is good enough for the EPL let alone LFC.

Glen Johnson.

I saw him got raped by Nani last season.

He will flop.

No he won't.

He's going to be the best signing of Summer.

OUR best signing of the summer? Not a difficult achievement that is it?

The best signing in all of the Premiership.

I've got extremely high hopes for the Johnson-lad. He shall not let me down.

What would you do if he failed at right back but suddenly became an amazing centre back overnight and it was a choice between him and Agger?

To varying degrees I have doubts over Kuyt, Insua and Xabi, if he stays.

Kuyt -  It's not that I expect him to be dog turd, but he's set a very high standard for himself and we need that to continue.

Insua - My biggest concern as far as first team players go. Still unproven in the Prem.

Xabi - Performed fantastically after trying to be sold last summer. Can he produce when he would rather be in Madird?

What would you do if Torres suddenly turned out to be a rather phenomenal Womens Ice Skater?

He already is isn't he?

Xabi - if he really wants to go and Rafa forces him to stay (which I would also do unless we receive an amazing offer and have a damn good replacement already in the bag). Could be he may slip back to 06/07 & 07/08 form.

I hope you called the police after you stopped masturbating?

I think the final nail in Ryan Babel's coffin will be seen this season.

I don't believe he really wants to go. Real Madrid would love him to come out and say that he wants to go, so it would be easy for him to do so but for some reason he isn't.

In any case, even if he does get 'forced' to stay he is not stupid enough to not put the effort in in a World Cup year.

Luckily for us he hang up his boots last Winter, or at least that's what I've been texted.

Voronin. I understand why a number of posters are trying to persuade themselves otherwise, but he is just plain not good enough.

My guess - and I admit that's all it is - would be that Xabi's genuinely torn over this. I suspect that in many ways he'd like to stay, but that having to continue playing for Rafa is sticking in his craw.

If Xabi stays I have no doubt his effort will be 100% again, but I'm less sure about his effectiveness. If he remains unsettled, it may be hard for him to keep to this season's standards .
