Who's going to Madrid?

Was listening to talk sport this morning and they were talking about travel there. Flights are silly money unless you fly to jus outside Spain and then into Spain from there. They mentioned Ibiza but I’m sure that’s gone now of course. Train is possible but I can’t remember the cost. Accommodation costs are stratospheric.

I'm seriously considering this, the mate(s) i'd go with aren't reds though so won't be willing to shell out more than like £300, is it possible to do without driving?

Depends if they're all prepared to let you just be a passenger & swerve your share of the driving. Cost wise should be doable.

Fuck accommodation, don't necessarily need it.

Looking into Madrid. Liverpool flights and accommodation will be as expensive to watch it there.

I'm looking at flights to Toulouse & car hire to drive the 7 hours to Madrid. Could work, can sleep in hire car.
Keep me updated from any good deals you find if thats alright? Was wondering if South France flight and Madrid train might be an economical option?

Train is an option, seems expensive though, more expensive than hiring a car, plus cos accommodation is so pricey having the car to get a few hours kip in may be invaluable.

I'm all booked.

Me and the boy fly to Barca on the friday and have train booked for saturday into Madrid, hotel in madrid and then back to barca for flight home on the Sunday.

Deffo got one ticket assuming it will be a ballot like last year.

This sounds like an open invite.

Everyone is staying with Silver Sean's mate.

He's a good man.

He is a good man, and despite living in Madrid he was at Newcastle away last week and Anfield last night. Two of about 20 games he's got to this season. Committed.
Unfortunately for my fellow SCMers he's already got about 12 of us descending on his apartment for that weekend.

There's a high speed train from Barcelona to Madrid, it only takes a few hours. Just in case someone is stuck, they can always stay in Barcelona and get the train to the match. I wouldn't worry about sleeping after the match...

I'll be coming on the 31st. Found some hotels in Alcala de Henares which is about 20 mins from Madrid.

Will there be pre-match SCM drinkies?

Obv going but not entirely sure how yet. Booked flights as a plan b but trying to turn a 7.5 ton truck that I turned into an escape room into a mobile pub right now. I'd rather do this as not only will we be taking 5000 pints of booze with us, we'll have somewhere to sleep.
Bagsy a spec if you get it up & running mate!

This is assuming bagsying is still a valid way of reserving things as a grown up.

Elite competitions are doing a competition for 2 tickets & 2 nights accommodation with all travel only £16 a ticket, only upside is it’s from Gatwick airport

Eurostar to Paris, flight from CDG to Madrid, gets in mid afternoon, meaning you get to have a croissant and coffee in Paris before heading to Madrid. Don’t bother booking a hotel as you’ll be on the streets all night. First flight outta Dodge for another day in Paris before a Eurostar home. That’s about £200.

Alternatively you can fly from Luton first thing Saturday and head back from Madrid mid afternoon for £1500! EasyJet are cunts.

Hotels, luxurious three star hostels, are around the £800/1200 mark.

Paris and the Spanish gutter for me...

We're the away team for this aren't we? Currently with Ajax being home side, we will be wearing away kit unless they wear their black away

There’s only 16,000 to go around 40,000 season ticket holders and member cards.

So basically not much fucking chance at all of getting one.

Ajax/Spurs will defo fill their allocation as well.

Grim.
