So City are third with bags of money, an injured LB and DM. Will they spend?

Spurs signed no one in the summer and are spending loads on the new stadium

Chelsea went off the pace and don't have any good strikers

Arsenal are Arsenal

United are mid table

We haven't really been linked to anyone. This feels like it could be the quietest Jan window for some time but that could all change. Who are we expecting to sign?

Will City splash the cash?

I think we should spend - definitely, we clearly need a backup RB unless Klopp has some youngster in mind from the club. But for some reason - I do feel that we need another solid midfielder for the following reasons:-

1) Milner may not be around or that effective next season - age will catch up.

2) The left side of midfield is something we have not addressed.

3) I think Fab has added a bit physicality to our midfield that we have not really had since Xabi Alonso/Gerrard left - in terms of height, it is no wonder we don't look like we will get fucked over once we lose the ball - it is always good to have another big player in the squad with some skill to go with it.

If we let one of Sturridge/Origi go then we definitely need some level of goalscoring backup talent.

As good as we have been - I always sense that we are one injury away from having serious problems - that is what feels so scary.

Not buying anyone : Liverpool, Spurs and United.

Maybe :

City if they can find a DM but I guess that will be in the Summer. Other players linked to them are generally seen as more longer term projects than short term fixes.

Chelsea need a striker so that's definitely possible if the right one is available.

Arsenal : who knows.

Looks like Man City will not buy anyone either.

Arsenal owner sees the club as a piggy bank, and seeing that he has just lumbered the club in a few hundred million pound debt by buying out the Russian, I can't see them buying any one until the summer, even then it's a tight budget

Spurs are skint, will only buy if they sell.

Man Utd will probably dip into the transfer market and buy a defender or two

United have a temporary manager and have not yet appointed a DoF. I very much doubt they will buy anyone.

I actually don't think anyone bar Chelsea will buy. Even then chelsea will only get huguian on loan with morata going to Milan. All has to be with Juve say so

I think we’ll sell Origi to Wolves in Jan. i reckon they were too much of an unknown for him to commit in the summer but he’s seen them hit the ground running whilst playing a nice attacking style.

Ok - I have to ask what is all this stuff about Christian Pulisic ? - it is coming up on the Metro and shit about us beating Arsenal to his signing. Do you f*ckers know anything about this ?

If high quality in any position comes into the market, there will be a bumfight. But hard to see where it will come from.

It's rumours. Supposedly, we're favourite to sign him, as in bookies have slashed our odds

Mmmm..sorry to break up this Klopp luvin but this Pulisic thing...you guys are not excited by the rumours ? You think he is shit ?

Chavs will sign a striker, Man U a centre back, City some expensive twat because they are shitting themselves.

City will do something. Pepe wants De Jong to reinforce the midfield, but he's not interested. I wonder if they'll move for Wanyama who's struggling to get a game at Spurs. They really miss Fernandinho when he's not in the side. I don't think United will do much. They're still good enough to make an assault on the top four positions if others slip up and they'll be reluctant to sign players without a permanent manager in place. They are where they are because they've had too many(poor) managers in short space of time and they're lacking cohesion as a result. Letting that smug dwarf twat sign players will only add to that.

The big one is whether or not Real Madrid move for Hazard. That could really fuck them up. He'll certainly bin them off to step into Ronaldo's boots at Madrid.

Don't think Wanyama is a Pep type midfielder. His ideal in the DM position is himself or Busquets; not easy to recruit anyone to satisfy his demands. Fabinho would have suited them, actually.

He said in a recent interview that while he doesn't really think about it, if circumstances are right and he is still wanted, he could stay longer than his current contract

Of course he will - if things stay right. But with Klopp you get the feeling that if we win things this season and then subsequent seasons turn bad - he will walk out himself. But the difference with Liverpool compared to Dortmund - is that he will be given funds to rebuild a new squad when the time comes. Although I love the current team - I will never attach myself to these players like I have done in the past especially what happened with the likes of Owen, and then later losing the key members of the Rafa team, and then what happened with Suarez and Sterling wanting out. The great thing is - that I have full belief in all the expensive purchases that Klopp has made - not a single bad one. I know people are expecting big things from Keita - but I for one am pleased with the way he has been playing recently by carrying that ball forward and the little dribbles - simply because no one in our midfield does that stuff right now except him.

Strange one this - having that sudden link, reading on it seems that something dodgy was done in that maybe will get a cut-price deal for E.Hazard's younger brother.

I was getting my De Jongs mixed up. They're after some young star at Ajax rather than the aged one now in Qatar. My finger is very much off the pulse of European football, haha.

Yes, I think Fabinho should've been their long term Fernandinho replacement. Just as van Dijk should've been their Kompany replacement.

Certain signings define eras. Imagine if Liverpool had signed Schmeichel, Cantona and Keane? Hopefully Alisson, Salah and van Djik can go on to define the next half decade.

Or imagine if we signed Aguero, David Silva, Kompany and De Bruyne – all of whom were available for reasonable money at the time for and some even linked to us (Aguero and Silva). We also narrowly missed out on Spurs' Eriksen and Dele Alli, both Liverpool fans. It feels good to finally make some signings that make our rivals cry tears of regret.

He's another RW/RM ... we need a LW/LM. Klopp loved him a while back but I reckon he's over him now we have Shaq.

I popped into the Adidas store in San Francisco the other day to get a pair of shorts so I could get my fat arse into the gym. The main display in the front of the shop was Man United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Wanted to burn the place down. Some cunt was getting lingard printed on a top.

So yeah, maybe
