France has 75% tax rate and apparently he is looking for salary of £18m after tax.
Messi doesn't pay tax.

Yep, he is in contact negotiations and looking to get the same deal as Ronaldo.
It still disappoints me that someone like him is making that much money but still feel the need to haggle his way to a bit extra.
It's not about money though, really. It's not as if he wants to buy a new car and needs the contract to do it. Realistically any increase in salary will have no tangible difference to his lifestyle. It's just status.
