Benteke, Firmino, and Clyne may all have very productive seasons contributing to a top 4 finish; Ings, Origi and Gomez may even surprise too by coming in handy.

But only Milner will be a driving force in developing an expectation of winning, along with the mental toughness and playing style needed to reach top 4. He will mentor the young ones too. Like I said. This was great business. @peterhague

A great deal will depend on how they all gel together. From the outside looking in, it seemed to me that that was a feature of our run to second place the season before last. If we can recapture it (and things like the retention of Kolo, who I think contributed a lot in that respect, suggest we're aiming to do so), top four is definitely on.

I voted for Milner BTW.
