I remember reading on here some time ago that one or two posters have never watched Istanbul since it happened... I just want to know why? I watch that match like 3 times a year, and have probably seen it about 20 times in total.
I've seen the highlights since then but I've not sat down and watched the whole game. It would be impossible to recreate the feeling of watching it at the time because I now know how it ends!
Like a few others i've only watched the highlights, despite having it on DVD . Not sure why i've never sat down and watched the whole thing back , I was lucky enough to have been there so i guess a little part of me prefers to remember it from the view and experiences i had .
I have watched the entire match once since the big night and have watched highlights many times as well as many youtube compilations.
They rarely fail to bring a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye which is funny because on the night all I did was cheer and shout.
I've probably watched the Chelsea highlights from the semi final just as many times. Just because the atmosphere at Anfield at the final whistle was electric and that the YNWA at the end was probably one of the best I've heard.

Yep. When I'm feeling shite about football and life in general, I watch this. It still gives me goosebumps and if its the Sky version with Sean Connery speaking the words to "In my life" then tears of joy well up.

In fact I'm off to watch it now!

Yeah that's a fantastic bit..it;s not on my FB though since some cunt will inevitably post 'stop watching the History Channel'
Never watched the whole thing, seen the goals and brief highlights etc... but never watched the whole thing again. Don't think I could replecate the whole diving on the floor for a pile up of fans when Alonso tucked the rebound away.
Also, Olympiakos, Juve and Chelsea game feelings. I'd rather just remember it as I do.

Someone did that to me. I reminded him that the trophy we won that night was the same one they won in 1999, because Istanbul was our fifth win so we'll be keeping it permanently, and that it can now be seen in our Trophy Room for just a fiver. It hasn't happened again. 8)
