I can't believe I am saying this, but Darren Fletcher is now a top class player.. does a great job for United.. arguably their best midfielder.. being a poor mans' version of him isn't actually that bad.. someone like Jimmy Bullard, could be said to be one.. Lucas is just an average footballer, full stop.
.. and on Brendan's point about him being a "didn't do much wrong midfielder".. yeah.. that often gets grouped together with the description he "wasn't the worst on the pitch", which I suppose is true.. as that distinction usually goes to our slow shit LB (whenever Voronin isn't playing).
And whilst your Lucas hate is justified, I think there's a lot more mileage in the Insewer thing.. Lucas is the pinnacle of average for midfielders.. is Insewer is just a plain shit full back who has cost us, I don't know, maybe 6-7 goals this year already.

Fletcher's a fine player who United miss when he's not playing. Ask any United fan and they'll tell you the same.
Good post, Dimishra. You're not far wrong at all. The only thing I would say is United have won the league with a relatively weak midfield compared to their rivals. Everything else is pretty much spot on.
Lucas is one of many players at our club who we could sell and I'd be delighted for a good while.

Same here. Lucarse is top of my sell list, along with Drossena, Voronin and Insua.
I will be so fucking happy when those four are gone.
I always seem to have a permanent list of bete noires/ hated players.
As soon as we get rid of a Morientes/ Kirkland/ Sissoko/ Slosemi/ Crouch/ Zenden/ Pellegrino/ Diao/ Diouf, there seems to be a new crop of football mongs to replace them.
