for the record I think we should go for the defender that is most dominant in the air. that's what we need most, even more than we need a defender to bring the ball out of defense.

I've voted for Kjær only because he's Danish. Hangeland would be a good option as well.
We do need a strong aerial presence mind. So as long that's one of the new guys key-attributes I'd be pleased.*

I was joking mate. Kjær would be a perfect addition imo. Strong, powerful and good in the air.
Cahill i'm affraid could be to similiar to Agger and we need a monster in the air more. Dann Im not sold on at all. Good in the air but not proven at all.
Both Subotic and Hummels looks great but out of reach this Season. They've Got ChL to look forward to etc.
Hangeland probably best realistic bet.

I'm sorry but how is Kjaer strong in the air? He is shorter than Agger. He loos very weak and he struggled so much in the German league. He looked absolutely clueless in the worldcup....i hope we stay well clear of thia lad.....

I think arsenal are waiting to confirm their place in the CL before spending big, ideally we'd have signed our CB by then (if we're in for one).

Not convinced about Samba. When I've seen him he seems an OK player but that's about it. I can't help feeling he's getting bigged up more than he might have been if there were a greater number of quality alternatives on the market.

I don't think you should put to much emphasize on CBs height, as long as they are in the 1.90-mould they're pontential competitive in the air. Scott Dann as many on here has championed as good in the air are 1.88 according to Wiki. Kjær is 1.89.
He's bulked up even more this Season and compared to Agger he's stronger build and he's certainly never 'looked very weak'. I believe he'll have a great Season with Wolfsburg, but we'll have to wait and see.
