So, it's Roy to the rescue for us....

Chavs
Scum
Arse
City
Tottenham

will all strengthen this summer.

Are we realistically heading for a 5th - 6th place finish?

Anyone confident we can crack the Top 4 next season?

If only Yossi leaves and Roy is given this 12m to spend I'll say top 4.
If the big guns leave then fuck knows. Hopefully above 18th

If we can manage to have a small transfer kitty + use any money generated from sales, then i'm confident we can get back into the top 4.

We will finish Top 4 next season

I think City will be real contenders this season. Mancini has had his honeymoon period - and will spend heavily this summer.

I can't see the Scum or the Chavs falling apart, so that leaves a dog fight between Liverpool, Arse and Spurs for 4th.....very tough.

I think that the different approach to man management will be a deciding factor in getting the squad to raise their games! With a new play maker in midfield (or Aquilani fulfilling promise) this is practically the same squad that came second the season before last and still has some great players! Now im not saying we'll challenge but I hope we do.... Im predicting at least 4th and an FA Cup run to the semis 8)

The truth is Roy is here and I expect him to be a Yes man, all our top players will be sold, majority of the cash generated will be used to pay of the debts and what is left over will be used to rebuild the squad.

Champions league football is a long way from here..

I am not optimistic in the slightest until the club has been sold. Hiring Roy Hodgson shows the the current state the club is in.

Top 4 Never. We will be lucky to stay in the Top half of the table at best. And yes I am being realistic.

3rd.

And we'll win the F.A cup!

Optimist 🙂

Depends who comes in and who stays.

If lucas, insua are still in our 1st team then we are looking for 6-8th

If they go and we bring in good replacements, id be confident we'll get 4th atleast

Expecting to finish 5th or 6th.

yah i'll go with that but for some reason, i'm optimistic for this season. dunno why, i guess i'm a nutter.

I'd say about 6th would be a fiar result at this point in time.

I'm not convinced we can challenge for the top 4 without retaining the bulk of the current squad and heavily investing in new players.

If Roy spends wisely, gets us playing good attacking football and we improve our away form, I'm confident that we'll get a top 4 finish.

I honestly don't see him making wholesale changes. The first thing he'll do is try to bring a level of stability at least to the playing staff.

it's difficult to objectively see how Roy will get us back into the top 4 - maybe cos of the piss poor style of last season. the performances of 2008=09 seem so so far away.

on a side note - i'm probably being a cunt but it annoys me when ppl say the "EPL"

Trouble is... aren't Hodgson's known for being well organised, defensively sound (ie good at parking the bus) and not that attack minded?

The questions is not whewther HE'LL make wholesale changes, but whether he'll have to cope with wholesale changes thrust upon him.

We have better players so I doubt that parking the bus is going to be an option. Having said that, championship winning teams are built on defensive solidity. While we have some fantastic players our entire left side need strengthening.

Who knows, maybe Roy will surprise us with Rafa's players much like Rafa did with Ged's. Look on the brighter side on things, one way or another change is inevitable. I'm hoping for the better!
