Guys - my eldest (12) just got his whatapp hacked.
Basically, someone's compromised phone sent him a whatsapp saying "my phone is hacked, send me the SMS # i send you now" and he innocently did it ...
Now everyone on his phone is getting messages with the same shit hoping to get something (bank details etc).
If any of you have young kids on smartphones, besides the obvious about safety, also make sure whatsapp has two step verification as per them (I'm pissed at myself that i didn't do this for him - as I have it done for mine):
