Below is the list of most expensive english transfers. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/t...rs_alle_default_default_default_189_alle.html

Think some of those figures are wrong - Carroll must be top.

Nevertheless, is the lesson not to spend double figures on english talent? Admittedly there are exceptions - Rio, Rooney, Carrick - but overall the risks seem too great.

Add in Alberto, Keane, Poulsen. Adam, Cole, all their wages, and you'd be close to 175m in mistakes I reckon. Now that is maddening. We'd potentially have won the league if well spent and we had a manager with a pedigree.

We're not allowed to discuss this for some reason.

I'm not sure why, it's a pertinent question.

...redhorizon2 fell down a well, all the dogs in the world were there when it happened and all agreed to not run and get help ?

We would have spent the money on better players who'd still be in our team today. As a result, we'd never had signed Coutinho.
