You've unwittingly stumbled upon the answer, even though you can't see it. He did a similar thing with Sissoko, remember?

More years to run on a contract = greater return. Whether we'll actually make anything on El Zhar remains to be seen but keeping hold of him is hardly going to be expensive so it's really not an issue.

Not so much skill and pace. I think it's just disorientating for the opposing team's left back.

First 60 or so minutes have this mop-headed blonde who never stops running, receives the ball, waits for you to come near him then passes it back to his teammate and continues running.

Then you get this sudden change of hair and complexion (although roughly same build) who instead takes the ball and runs straight at you.

It's the sudden change of style. El Zhar's not that fast or skilful imo. Whether he stayed or left didn't really matter much to me, unless someone came by with an offer of 6m or more.
