Having watched the 1st half again, I must say Keita didn't play well – he didn't do anything wrong per se, but he's capable of much, much more. The passing was nothing more than safe, his famous close control was not quite there and timing of the tackles was also just a bit off. If I'm right that he's going through a low patch of form at the moment, maybe he actually should start on the bench in the first game and be brought into the team gradually. Or maybe it's all an effect of tired legs and he will be fine once the training intensity drops. Only Klopp knows the answer.
I thought Fabinho was pretty good aside from the penalty miss – generally really like his movement and decision-making, there were just a few instances where he committed to a challenge too early or too late, but this will surely improve. He ought to start on Sunday, but after that it will be a very interesting battle with Henderson.
Wijnaldum was MOM for me – when Keita was signed I said that hopefully this will give Gini a kick up his backside to focus more on the attacking side of his game and I think this is what we're seeing now. He was making so many runs in the channels on the right side that he was almost getting in Salah's way at times – but I'm sure they can work out the spacing issues; for the goal it worked out perfectly as the defenders were all focused on Mo and completely missed the blind side run. Could we really see the confident free-scoring Gini of his pre-Liverpool days combined with the discipline he acquired under Klopp?
