West Ham (A)

There are 2 directions the next few months may go. One - we keep winning and gradually the league becomes an inevitability. Two - we drop a few points here and there, City go on a run like last year, and the game at Etihad at the start of April takes on some significance.
If we can win these next 2 games against West Ham and Southampton before the break we take a big step towards the first, less stressful path. Huge game for me tomorrow, especially as we are without Mane. Have been going through who might fill in on the left. I think Origi will play against Southampton, but Minamino, or maybe move Oxlade there(?), tomorrow. Would not be against Jones or Keita, though.
It's only stressful for some. Others have already reached the conclusion that it's virtually impossible for this team to lose the title now with 9-0-6 maximum required out of the 15 remaining games. Every time City drop points or we draw instead of losing (in the above scenario) means we need fewer wins.

Personally I'm on a virtual deckchair on a virtual beach with a virtual cocktail in hand, virtual toes playing with the incoming virtual waves and .. you, Hal and Modo on the other hand are standing side by side scanning the horizon for a real live Tsunami.

Ye, Ox hasn't set the world alight in his last few appearances.
Ox is like a winger playing in the center. Sometimes he's great other times, his close control is somewhat lacking. With Keita the ball is stuck to his feet. He makes it look so easy when he dribbles past players. Ox can sometimes look a bit clumsy. He plays with too much power and pace in midfield. Dunno how to describe it. Just looks awkward at times. Ball getting to far ahead of him when he tries to get forward etc.

I really like Ox but I'm starting to think that he just isn't good enough any more.

Yeah, I'm one of these nuts. I almost won't believe it till it's happened.
That's what a 30-year wait will do. Younger guys talking about a treble and record points. Would be nice, but one game at a time. I'm like a miser at the moment - our lead never seems enough.

Good assessment although I think it's more about ox learning to learn, control himself and concentrate . It's mad but but it's easy to forget that since we bought him he hasn't really had a consistent run of games to adapt. He'll play consistently for 10 games or so and then get injured. If you say maybe he isn't good enough then to me it's only because of numerous injuries which stop him from getting everything down into memory muscle.

I'm going the St Johnstone Celtic game tomorrow but will watch this on hesgoal or kingfoot.

Celtic should win this? I have set up a betting scheme with my son where we take all accumulated and put towards a "certain" win on low odds. There ain't too many certain teams in Europe and Celtic, PSG, Ajax and Benfica stand out as those you allways consider.

I'm going to this one. Got my WHU supporting mates season ticket and I'm sat next to my best mate.

Anyone else going? This game went to general sale for home fans and there's been quite a profile with the club and their fans about potentially a lot of reds with tickets in the home end. There was talk that any first time general sale ticket purchases might be flagged up at turnstiles for additional checks to ensure its not an away fan. Was being seriously suggested that people with these tickets will be asked to prove their allegiance via showing photos of themselves in West Ham colours or via proof of merchandise purchase. Too weird really and more fool them for not thinking about this before just putting them out for general sale.

However, my West Ham mates have reliably informed me that stewards will be heavily scrutinising and looking out for away fans in the home end. They've had this problem at the stadium before and word is, they'll remove people quickly. The home fans are also particularly intolerant to larger numbers of away fans openly sat with them. It gives them an outlet to vent their frustrations that have built up around results.

In terms of the game, their midfield is one paced and pulled around. Antonio, Anderson and Lanzini are good and creative. But Noble's legs have gone, Cresswell has a tendency to be caught out going forward. Snodgrass is also a nuisance and been consistent for them.

Same here, mate... I wasn't yet finished school when we last won this bastard trophy... Now Andie is driving. WTF?!?!?!

No lead is big enough... If only we'd won at old toilet, eh?

No worries. The two pensils sticking out of your nose would give you up as a Manc if anything.

This is going to be a really dodgy game for us, as West Ham are one of those that will try very hard when their crowd and the media start calling them lazy, useless c*nts.

This morning my work colleague cracked me up by sending me a quote from something he read:

Reporter for this is Anfield : "where do you think the key battles will take place ?",
West Ham Reporter: "I can't see there being any battles really"

LOL -
they really are expecting a thrashing for that game from us, and are just hoping they get something against Brighton in the next game coz I think after that game they have to play City then us again !!!

It is also important that we keep focus and don't let that "easy win" feeling come sneaking in.

West Ham will not want to lose this one especially with three of the bottom four sitting on 23 point and the two above them on 25
PTS
15 Brighton 25
16 Villa 25
17 West Ham 23
18 B'mouth 23
19 Watford 23
20 Norwich 17

They will have 9 men behind the ball, and be looking to hit us on the break, could be a frustrating nigth for the most part...
Would love the win, but would be happy with the draw so long as there are no injuries

This is pure speculation

You mean they wanted to lose one of / any of the other 23 games they've played this season ? Despite not wanting to lose they've still managed that 12 times though. At home 3-2-6.

We're going to start Origi, aren't we? No slight intended to McMiniman, but I want Origi to start.
