He was defensive at Chelsea too. They just had a really potent counter-attacking threat.

I think his style stayed consistent all the way from Porto to United. All his teams are built using the same blueprint, it's just the small details that are changing. In a way managers like Klopp or Pep are more capable of surprises, because they constantly search and evolve – Mourinho is just building the same team over and over.

United with negative tactics have scored 41 league goals this season, Us with ultra attacking tactics have scored 41 league goals this season, how does that work?

I'm assuming their chance conversion rate is better, than our's, maybe due to having "tradesman"goal scorers.

United have probably the most expensive squad ever in football. On a few occassions they have played some decent attacking football. Most games they have held their opponent at bay and snatched a win. A few times they have held them at bay and scored 3 goals late in the game.

What we don't see from them is a clear attacking plan. Their wide players are still deep. Their striker is big/strong and a focal point for long balls. There is not a single attacking player that has improved his value after joining United.

But still they have converted a lot of chances late in games when they already won the game by boring the opposition to death by being very well organized and filling up their own box.
