If the board took any notice of what LFC sites think, then why was Roy given the job?
[/quote]

nail on the head.

the board doesn't give a toss what the liverpool forums say, if they did roy would have been pushed weeks ago.

I think this is a case of people reading something and gleaning a different understanding.

Do I think Purslow has a electrode attached to his cock so he'll know when someone on RAWK has made a post?

No.

But I do think the Board and Owners do take notice of fans support of the manager or lack thereof; whether it's on the internet, the streets or the stadium.

Somehow I think the people who work at Liverpool Football Club are giving more respect in decision making than a bunch of internet warriors.

avvy> i think it's likely enough that rafa used his support to lever more power from the club in his last contract, but as for it artificially prolonging his stay...well, i struggle to see how any rational fan could have genuinely wanted him sacked at any point prior to his actual sacking. maybe it stopped H&G getting rid early on when he started causing a fuss, but that would've only stopped a grossly premature departure, so i'm not sure if that's relevant is it? aren't we talking about him using the power to stay beyond what time he'd earned through performance? maybe not - if not, ignore me.

Before internet forums and all their 'expert' members came along, liverpool were pretty good.

And back then we had a style of business where everything was dealt with before anyone had the slightest idea of what was going on. These days i.e. Zidane cant even buy himself a house in a decent neighbourhood before we all want hourly updates!!!

More important: Get rid of Roy Hodgson and we still be in the competition for no 19 😉

Nah, I'd agree with most of that.

I actually don't think it was fan support that got him the last contract though, it was that we were doing well and eventually finished second.
