what's that? the tactically brilliant rednapp getting outsmarted by the mighty bolton? that can't be right, surely?

Spidey, why are you biting? It's fucking obvious that Benitez is a better manager than Redknapp, or the fucking calamity we have in charge now.

You'd have to be fucking retarded not to acknowledge Benitez's track record and success across Europe.

But that doesn't mean Benitez wasn't a fucking disaster for us last season, because he was.

Just shows the result we dug out against them in an even better light now. Isn't that right Neil ?

4-2. Petrov.

I'm going to get slaughtered for this but if Torres had Davies upfront as his partner he wouldnt keep getting battered all the time.

He'd also never receive the ball to feet
I kinda envisioned Davies knocking the ball down to Torres' feet. However, we will be turned into a long ball team, so I don't think we'll be going down that route.
We wouldn't have to become a long ball team at all. Bolton aren't for a start. They still have that in their locker, but they mix it up a lot more under Coyle than they did under their previous managers.

Re: Hargreaves

He pulled his hamstring today which I think is more a fitness issue.

There was an interview with him over here this summer and apparently he said his knees/calf aren't an issue anymore and he was hoping to regain an England squad spot eventually. Too bad, he's come down with another case of 'Ledleykingitis'.

Latest scores

Birmingham 1-2 West Ham
Blackburn 2-0 Wigan
Blackpool 2-2 Everton
Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa
Man Utd 1-1 Wolves
Sunderland 1-0 Stoke

Celtic leading Aberdeen 8-0 with less than 15 min to go. Raced to 3-0 lead after Aberdeen had a man sent off. Lost a player thru red card just before half time. At 10 men each, Celtic scored 5 in the 2nd half.

That's a bit unfair. Bolton played some good stuff today. Better than most of the stuff we've served up all season.

I agree about Bolton mate.

I was referring more to our tendency to hoof it from the back which could become even more prevalent should we buy a big target man

HT Arsenal - Newcastle 0 : 1 (Carroll)

A decent game, both teams are playing quite well. I can't see why Wenger sticks with Fabianski though, he really is an awful, awful keeper

Newcastle will move up to 4th with a victory at Emirates. To think Mike Ashley is still deliberating over renewing Chris Hughton's contract.

Great result for Newcastle!

First win ever at Emirates apparently.

Long balls to Carroll and they are defending extremely well. Not pretty but rather effective.
