Crazy game that. Bremen were in the hunt for a Europa League place, and they needed to win while hoping for FC Koln to lose or draw and Freiburg to lose. They were leading 3-2 (coming back from 2-1 down) and at that point, it looked like Dortmund were fated to play us in the playoffs (ahem). Then Reus wins a penalty, and then Pulisic wins another penalty, and it ends 4-3.
It wouldn't have mattered if Bremen had won anyway, as FC Koln won and qualified for the Europa League with Hertha Berlin, who qualified despite being thrashed by Leverkusen, because Freiburg, who needed a win over Munich to pip Berlin lost (of course). So I guess with a Europa League place confirmed, Allan can now stay at Hertha Berlin on loan for another season.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Kai Havertz scored twice for Leverkusen in their 6-2 trouncing of Berlin. Could've had a hat-trick too. His stock seems to be rising.
Chievo up 2-1 against Roma just before halftime. I think we need Napoli to pass Roma for the run in or it doesn't matter in Italy?
Edit: Roma is just behind us on Uefa ranking and Napoli far ahead. Og Napoli pass Roma and secure direct entry to Group stages it is good for us. Come on Chievo. Hang in there!!
