Sad, despicable old cunt.

You only won the league the last 3 seasons cause of Ronaldo, you twat.
And the other 341o78508577-41781325 thousand trophies he's won were solely down to some other one-man-team great too eh?

Balls.
They wouldnt have won the last three league titles without Ronaldo in their team.
He's right
It maybe true, but it's largely irrelevant.

Fergie signed him as a youngster when we baulked at the price, nurtured him, developed him into the best player in the world, and then set his team up to accommodate his talents.

It's impossible to dilute Fergie's success.

That team, minus Ronaldo, would probably not have won the league.

Sadly Ferguson's record can lead one to the reasonable assumption that, had he not signed Ronaldo, he would have done things differently and quite possibly still achieved success.
Oh no doubt. I was just validating Terriers point. He would not have won trip-titles without that player.

He never got over Rafa's failure to kneel down, kiss his hand and thank him after he sent him that patronising letter about the final in 2005.
Quite.

Anyway, can we now say that Bayern "should never have lost that final"?? They won the last one on the back of a shite display from both sides in a game that neither deserved to win.

They only do good finals when they get beat.
I thought BM battered manu but failed to defend two corners.

City will also be a problem in terms of the youth set up; OT won't be able to rely on quite so many promising kids heading straight to them. Another problem to be inherited by Ginsoak's successor.
but city's recent youth record is miles better than utd's anyway.

Milan battered us but let in three soft goals and then lost on pens... So???

I need to clarify the bit in bold I think, I meant the last final United won, against Chelsea, it was barely one they thoroughly deserved to win either.

That's sort of what I meant. It will probably get better still.

What a 1st class cunt he is saying ancelotti is his main contender and that chelsea will do well as he'll do it the milan way and he's won the european cup twice & it should of been three as they shouldn't of lost to us in '2005'..

But they (milan) shouldn't of won in 2007.. and scum shouldn't of won in 1999 with two last minute scrappy goals and a pen kick away from the 2008 win..

You gin soaked wanker..

What exactly did the old codger write?

Was a congratulatory letter, but he made some suggestions about what Benitez should have done differently...basically implying that he'd gotten lucky.

Which we were ;D

How, Avvy?  None of our goals were lucky, neither were our tackles and clearances or The Dude's saves.  You can call it lucky that Milan lost their bottle if you like, but I don't.  We still had to take advantage of that and we did, to glorious effect.

Rafa's response to Ferguson's letter was pure class BTW.  He framed it and hung it on the wall. I wonder if that was what first marked his card in Ferguson's eyes.

He was condescending in a sense, but his actual comments were that he thought putting Hamann on was a masterstroke, even though it was common knowledge that Rafa had fucked up over his decision to leave Didi out.

Benitez responded in bemused fashion.

Apparantly Owen missed 3 sitters tonight. Long may it continue.
He did that regularly for us too, and still scored 20 odd a season.

I've said it before - he's the perfect 'no risk' signing for them.

Well, by them signing Owen they may feel they are fine in the strikers department, but if he's not firing, or if he's injured. They only have Rooney and Berbatov.

Neither are out and out strikers though, so I take his point. They're putting alot of onus on Owen compensating for the departure of Ronaldo in goals.

I don't think anyone could argue that there wasn't a *little* bit of luck involved in Dudek's goal line save from Sheva. He looked as surprised as the rest of us when it didn't go in.

Their big weakness IMO is a chronic lack of pace up front. Valencia's the only fast winger/forward they've got, isn't he?
Yeah pretty much. Rooney isn't slow, he's Gerrard esque in his acceleration, but like you say they've got no genuine pace and no one who will break away from the shoulder of the last defender.

Giggs got one goal last season, Scholes is knocking on, their delivery from wide isn't what it was, and Valencia isn't that big a goal getter either. If fit Owen is still quick, but I think they're really gonna struggle for goals at times without Ronaldo - even Tevez weighed in with goals and won a few close games for them.

Hopefully a few of those close games will become draws or even defeats this season..

I wouldn't be surprised if Ginsoak really blows it this season, in terms of his 'mind games'. He's already given people so much for the files against him - the 'small club' taunt hypocrisy, the 'don't show disrespect to other managers' hypocrisy, etc - and I don't think even he can afford another farce like that Allardyce 'intervention' . If Ancelotti is as smart as he's supposed to be he should dismiss Ginsoak's comments and say he respects us as opponents.

Same question as before - lucky how? Anyone would have been surprised that Shevchenko in his 2005 pomp didn't score from so close in, but there was nothing lucky about the speed of the Dude's reflexes to get to the ball.

Pretty much exactly what I was gonna say. They've made valencia and owen their key signings, owen to grab the goals, and if he does get injured, neither Rooney or Berbatov have showed their goalscoring capablities.
