The missus has gone to watch sex in the city 2 on girls night out, I've got 12 bottles of corona left in the fridge, the dogs asleep in front of the fire, and the world cups about to kick off. Sweet!
After work today I'm driving five hours back to Winnipeg so I can watch the England game tomorrow with a mate who is amped up for it. Second Friday in a row I'm leaving my staff early. Hope they don't mind too much. Fuck 'em, I'm the boss anyways.
I am proper excited, was like a kid on Christmas eve last night in work. 5 hours sleep and I am on for 4 weeks and 3 days of football. I loved the opening ceremony, very Africaan, and I agree that this might well be one of the best WC's for many a year.

If it's live, you get used to the sound of vuvuzela's in 10 min. I fell asleep to the sound of them on the streets last night and I woke up to them this morning. On TV, yeah, annoying as fuck.
Lots of traffic outiside the stadium. I think the attendance was catered for, but no-one expected the number of people who just want to be close to the stadium.
Still shit to see a half empty stadium.
Crowds for all games in major cities will be great. Some far flung places like Rustenburg were a bad idea from the start and will see some crap crowds. Locals can afford tickets, but FIFA usually insist on credit card purchases by someone attending only. Millions here have the cash but not the card. They went over the counter but it was a bit late.

The horns are annoying as fuck.
I was planning to simply turn my centre speaker up & my l& r speakers down, getting the voice but low noise. Unfortunately itv are shite & broadcast in 2.1 only. Sky Germany have it in 5.1 but then I'd hav to listen to Germany commentary, somewhat defying the point. Why the fuck can't itv do 5.1 when it's clearly the obvious solution!
