Team news(as of now)

  • Sturridge not ready, Lovren out
  • Sakho back in training and available

Team I'd play:

-------- Mig --------------

Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno

Hendo ------ Can

----- Coutinho --------

Lallana ----- Firmino

--------- Origi ------------------

Benteke needs a rocket up the arse and Origi deserves his chance. Would give Firmino another go, needs to grow a set that lad and start performing.

Ibe and Benteke would be great options to come on, and Lucas to tighten up the midfield if need be.

Watford are a good, well-balanced team managed by a smart coach. They are on a 3-game winning streak and have one of the hottest strike partnerships in the league and a decent defense and goalkeeper. I think we have to go into this game with full respect for the opponent and understand that we will not win this unless we produce a really good performance.

First of all I would get Lucas back for this one. We are a bit more solid with him when we play away and he has a point to prove after being dropped. Hope Sakho is fit; we really need him back. In CM I would play Hendo and Can and that leaves 3 places for attacking players. Based on recent form and ability to press I would go with Coutinho, Origi and Lallana. So:

-----------------------Origi----------------------
--Coutinho-------------------------Lallana---
--------------Can-------------Hendo----------
----------------------Lucas---------------------
Moreno----Sakho-------Skrtel-------Clyne
--------------------Mignolet---------------------

I think this team should produce a good performance and at least match whatever Watford throws at us. Where we definitely have an advantage is the depth and quality available to us on the bench – if we're tied after 70 minutes, we can bring in the likes of Benteke, Firmino or Ibe and try to swing the game in our favor.

I'd start:

Ming
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
Henderson Lucas Can
Lallana Firmino Coutinho

Sakho has been in full training since friday and played in a friendly yesterday. He's ready.

I know that Firmino hasn't been at his best lately but I'd start him upfront with Lallana and Coutinho behind him. I'd pretty much use the same line up we did against Man C.

It's time we got three points.

Watford are a decent team who like to play football.

For that reason I can see us winning as will have more space.

up front, its has to be a variation of origi/friim/phil/llanna.

I just hope that Milner doesn't start. I think he's been rubbish so far. If we play 3 in midfield then i'd rather have Lucas , Can and Henderson.

Mignolet

Clyne-----Skrtel ----Sakho----Moreno

Can------Henderson-----Milner

Lallana-------Benteke-------Coutinho

Wasn't sure between Ibe and Lallana since neither has produced much end product, but Ibe at least has pace, I dunno, don't care really.

No Firmino, Lucas or Allen, obviously

Why leave him out then?

---------------Lucas------------------

----------------Origi----------------

Origi and Ibe changed the game against WBA and deserve a start. Milner needs to be benched - runs a lot but doesn't offer enough and isn't a game winner.
