It's also not a coincidence that the Glazers and Fergie selected a manager who did exceptionally well with a limited budget.

Hopefully that would mean they would give Moyes a few transfer windows to try and get some players onto his team.

There is a lot of talk in the media that they have quite a bit of money to spend. But the biggest issue is that none of the top players would want to join them now.

De Rossis comment was hilarious.

What was that?

And Corriere Dello Sport report De Rossi as saying: "It was a good thing that I didn't go to Manchester United, or I would have committed suicide by now!

The context was that he would have missed out on Romas good season, but the quote is ace regardless.

They spent 28mill in the summer on a single player, and were in for several others including fabregas that wouldn't have come in cheap. I don't think he'll be working on a shoestring.

They're just five points behind us and still in the CL money maker.

I was about to say the same thing. Though I think all the players they were in for (Thiago, Fabregas, De Rossi) were for the same position so they were never going to spend stupid money.

I reckon he's got a reasonable amount money to spend.

28 mill for someone whos best asset is his chest control followed by his elbow skill was absolute madness, Moyes should get the boot just for that, they would be lucky to get half that back now, hopefully he gets the chance to keep wasting more.

Massive lack of judgement that signing and showed right there how unsuited Moyes is to that job, Felliani was never in a million years what they needed unless they wanted to play a direct physical route one type of game, he is a Pulis/Allardyce wet dream type of player, alarm bells really should of been going off to those manc fans there and then, its amazing how many of them still fail to see Moyes for what he is and just blindly back him based on nothing.

Listening on the radio the other night and a manc fan was saying that Moyes is a great manager, when questioned how is he a great manager the manc was well and truly stumped, stuttering, umming and uhhhhhing, desperately trying to find just one small reason why he was right in saying that, he gave up in the end, fucking funny to listen to.

key thing is Moyes needs one or two victories, ideally a cup run (looking unlikely now) to keep him in the job for one more season at least. if I were united I would be eyeing Ancelloti.

Which is what?
I'm not speaking for Spag Legs - But for me he is seems a good manager working in a fairly toxic enviroment. Debt, ageing squad, boots to fill, living in Manchester. Etcetera etcetera etcetera...

The boot you say?????

Fuck that.

He should be knighted & encouraged to spend similar amounts on players like Feelyfanny every transfer window.

Read the last sentance of that quote.

What i mean is it was a sackable offence in itself, gross incompetance.

Cant help but be reminded of the Carroll/Downing 55 million, urgh.

That sort of incompetence should be encouraged in Man Utd managers.

Maybe they could get Damien Comolli on board to help out as well.

if we win tomorrow we'll be 8 points clear by next week because there's no way they'll get any points against chelsea next week.

With friends like these...

Poor old Moyes, even when he wins Ginsoak takes the credit!

Champions' now-retired manager went to his successor's office following FA Cup loss to Swansea and - hey presto! - they beat same opposition in the league
TOPIC-ONLY--Sir-Alex-Ferguson-and-David-Moyes-1877582.jpg

Manchester United hauled themselves back from the brink of crisis against Swansea – thanks to another helping of Fergie Time, writes Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

Former boss Sir Alex Ferguson held crisis talks with under-fire boss David Moyes after last week’s Old Trafford defeat by the Swans.

And in the very next league game, against the same team that wrecked their FA Cup dreams a week ago, the champions gave a far more assured display – even without the injured Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie – to win 2-0.

Fergie, who led the Reds to an 11-point title triumph last season, spent an hour in Moyes’s Old Trafford office last week in an unscheduled emergency summit.

He told Moyes - the man he chose as his successor - that his job was NOT under threat; that he had the full support of the Glazer family; and that money will be made available in summer to beef up an ailing squad.

Insiders say it’s not the first time that Fergie, shown mostly these days sitting with a frown in the Old Trafford stands, has met Moyes to offer reassuring words.
