'Utd are a shower' - Savage

Fuck them. I hope they continue to crumble. Of course, chances are they will spend a load of money end up in the top 4 and win the CL. Just to piss us off, enjoying the mini melt down so far though.
They are not going to disappear Leeds-like are they? Hopefully they'll hover around the fringes of the top 4 and continue to be borderline shite.

It's beautiful on the back of ginsoak saying we needed 8 players to challenge the title. Going on this season, we've about 3 short, and they're about 10. Ha. Cunts.

Can they spend loads though? Aren't the Glazers in loads of debt. I doubt they are able to get anything substantial done this month either so that's them pretty much fucked until the end of the season. It would be brilliant if they failed to reach the CL this year of all years - Massive financial loss and a less attractive place for the top player to go too. Of course when RVP returns he could make all the difference. I guess we'll see.

They can't spend anything. Not the amounts they need to in order to rebuild anyway.

Ferguson, imo, took a pay hike, shares, or some other incentive to publicly back the glazers & reduce the impact of any fan action or focus on their lack of spending (relatively speaking for their size, status & income). He always rebuilt his teams & got shut of older players before they reduced in value, it's no coincidence that since the glazers took over he has failed to do that.

I love the article, for the simple reason that the only players he thinks Utd should keep (Vidic, Rooney, RVP) are also the ones who are rumoured to be unsettled & likely to leave.

IF Savage is right and IF the rumours turn out to be true then we are in happy happy land.

Trouble is both are probably wrong, but I'll enjoy it anyway

I'm going for the approach that the more we think they are not finished the more likely they are to be finished. Or something.

For the record, this article is dreadful, but the topic is delightful.

I'm not sure how much Savage adds to the BBC football punditry team. With ageing stars like Hansen retiring, the BBC need to up their game and bring in a top class replacement. I'm not sure what Savage's best role is. He should go.

Did you know? Robbie Savage is widely regarded as a complete twat.

So I think losing Fergie is now when the Glazers issues of debt will become potentially huge.

No CL revenue next year, players will drift away, the club will lose it's shine, harder to attract players, so they have to pay them more..

And then there's the debt issue meaning they can't compete financially at all with the likes of City and Chelsea.

Dont forget those fuckers could sell up in a blink to some oil rich bastards for over a billion quid and then start buying whoever they like and our nightmares would never end. We want the glaziers and moyes to stay for ever.

Moyes charged with misconduct.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association.
It is in relation to comments made after Tuesday's 2-1 League Cup semi-final first-leg loss to Sunderland when Moyes, 50, said United are "beginning to laugh at referees" for their "terrible" decisions.

He added that they are "playing referees as well as the opposition".
Moyes has until 18:00 GMT on Wednesday, 15 January to respond to the charge.

"It is alleged the comments called into question the integrity of the match officials... and/or implied that such match officials are motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute, in contravention of Rule E3(1)," said a statement.

The first-leg defeat was United's third loss in a week - the first time that has happened since 1992.
The Premier League champions were beaten 2-1 at home by Tottenham at the start of 2014 and followed that up with elimination from the FA Cup at the hands of Swansea, which was also played at Old Trafford.

The former Everton manager was also irked by a decision during the Spurs defeat, stating it was "scandalous" United were not awarded a late penalty.

Moyes, who succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson at United at the end of last season, said he had the pedigree to guide the club through "difficult" times.

"I have done it before, I'm experienced and I just sense that it's just on the verge of turning," he added. "I sense that we are about to get a bit better.

"If you are going to be in this job, then that's what happens. You have got to win and in the last few games, I have not won.

"We are going through a difficult time. It's part of football management, it's never going to be an easy ride."
Earlier this week, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was fined £8,000 over comments he made about referee Lee Mason after the defeat at Manchester City.

As the second most famous English club they have a worldwide appeal that may make them attractive to a potential investor but their debt issue will make it a premium purchase price.

In addition there are the new FFP rules which will stymie a speedy squad overhaul. An untested Chief Executive and Football Manager isn't going to help either.

It's a difficult moment for them and they may have to engage in a long term rebuilding program with all the doubts and false dawns that it brings. We have plenty of experience of what they may have to contend with.

Couldn't a billionaire sheik just create bogus sponsorship deals ala Man City and pump gazillions into the club? seems easy enough to get away with brazenly ignoring the spirit of FFP.

Moyes may be many things, but I don't think you could call him 'untested'. Unless any manager who hasn't managed Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, et al is also untested.

Yep, it seems so. And they'd also be able to afford the best accountants and lawyers to put the best dodges on it.

It's also not a coincidence that the Glazers and Fergie selected a manager who did exceptionally well with a limited budget.

There is a lot of talk in the media that they have quite a bit of money to spend. But the biggest issue is that none of the top players would want to join them now.

De Rossis comment was hilarious.
