Liverpool always tends to the romantic, and it's very easy to say "not to get carried away but" and then get carried away, which I think is what you've done.
The fact is that our style of play hasn't been shit for years and years, it's been shit for two years, and a return to what we had two years ago would be a massive improvement on the best of our current play. Just because we've finally exorcised the demons: H&G, Hodgson, and the last big rat who jumped right when it was evident the ship wasn't sinking, doesn't mean that we have resolved the damage that has been wrought on the club over the last few years. We've had an improved approach, and improved results and performances, but to really get back where we need to be will take a series of good decisions, consistent performances, and we can't even evaluate the ones we've made thus far. We've no idea how Suarez and Carroll will pan out.
So yes, a much improved platform, the lifting of the last symptoms of a severe acute disease, and that most intoxicating sense of momentum. We certainly deserve to get carried away, but there are still fundamental, chronic issues that need addressing, and a particularly competitive environment for those decisions. You can write ballads to Kenny, and I'll love reading them, but you can't write this new chapter in Liverpool's history just yet, it's all just romance. I know Kenny has magic, and we've got hope again, but we're just at the beginning.
