Tsimikas’s little brother

Unless I've completely missed something, in what world does a side sitting mid table in the German 2nd division find 25m euros to sign a teenager?

Not against these type of signings, but for that fee? It's a hard NO.

Well the article says the German side have an €18m end of loan buy option. It’s us that would have to shell the higher figure

Oh I see.

Even then it seems very steep to me for a club like that. They've never spent more than 3mill euros.....and this was the summer they were promoted to the Bundesliga 18/19, so how no idea how they can afford this in the state they're in. I call bullshit.

You have full access to their books?

Looks to have a lot about him for 17. Nice runs in behind and timing against offside traps.

Interesting, if true. We don't normally spend that kind of money on young players "for the future". First the Georgian keeper and now this kid... a change in approach?

We need a player for "now", however, to come in and replace Nunez. If we have money for everything, great. If not, I wonder what the plan is because surely the jump from a midtable second division German side to Liverpool is too great... unless he's "him" (as the kids would say).

Worth noting that Miroslav Klose is his current coach, which has to be handy for his development. He was a terrific finisher.

One of my absolute favourite strikers, particularly later in his career. I think he sets the standard for a target man’s ability to bring teammates into play, basically a striker-playmaker type. He was irreplaceable for Germany when he retired.

Not sure about this lad - name’s too hard to get decent punnage out of - all I got is calling him Stefannyos if he’s shit or something about Tzatziki….

Slim pickings…

Could try anagrams

Stefanos Tzimas ... "semisoft stanza", "fantasizes most", or, my personal favourite, "fantasizes Toms"

Apologies for the most unEnglish use of Z ... unfortunately it comes with the territory.

Was taking a look at his stats at fbref.com and noticed one of the players Tzimas was listed as similar to, is Santiago Gimenez (Slot's topscorer at Feyenoord). :watching:

His dribbling style reminds me of Shevchenko - I think he’s a fast and well-rounded forward type, but it has to be said that those types of strikers from the continent historically didn’t have a big success rate in England. I think it mainly has to do with tactics - English teams usually build their attack around target men and wingers/wing-forwards and the Shevchenko type is neither.
