He looked very good this week.

Two yellows in two games is a worry. But that free kick was excellent and his work rate was very good.

Just shows that he gets stuck in, at least the first one. The second one I like, because to me it shows courage. Remember seeing him play for the reserves and think, damn that kid is fearless.
Did you see him dribbling? He's no fullback. Reminds me of Gerrards goal against Sheffield when he made Des Walker look like a mug.

I have to agree. He has the potential to play as a midfielder with attacking freedom.

He made one crucial mistake tonight, but its one he won't make again i'll bet.

I'm reluctant to go overboard because the more he plays the more we'll see his weaknesses - he'll have to face the likes of Hazard this season.

But that said - his pace, his ability to dribble, his workrate, his ability to defend one on one, and that dead ball striking mean he's going to be a first teamer for a while

Best player on the pitch. As @Oncy said his discipline is a worry but fuck that - He'll get better and and better! Looked brilliant. I've finally seen the merits of Hendo as a captain. He walked him through that interview at the end and he stood next to him loud and proud. Good on the young 'un. And good on Hendo. Lovely to watch. 🙂

This might sound a bit stupid but I've never seen a black kid speak scouse. I chuckled a bit.

He has a wee tendency to push people with two hands from behind, which Frankenstein used to fling himself down every time he felt it. He has loads to learn, but he's got everything. Pace, attitude, skill, scouseness and playing for the best team in the world.

I don't think there's been much doubt that he'll become a proper Liverpool player for the long term. A schoolboy error from a schoolboy tonight, but otherwise he's been excellent. The only doubt would be if his attitude was wrong, but it's actually superb - he listens, he learns, he works damned hard and he has great natural talent. He's going to make it.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp hailed Alexander-Arnold's performance.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp praised the youngster after the Champions League play-off game

'He only plays because he is good,' the German said.

'He has to improve in all departments, that is clear, but offensively he is nice to watch and defensively he was good today.

'That is the challenge. We are fine. You saw him, he needs a long ice bath and a warm bed for recovery.

'It was a really good free-kick.'

Have a feeling that Clyne will start once he's fit, but I want Klopp to give the kid games and if possible find a spot for him in the line up cause his set pieces are dangerous.
If it means moving Clyne to left back so be it. His crosses are useless anyway.

Move Clyne to the left and keep TAA on the right. Clyne is poor going forward anyway so it wouldn't make any difference to him.

He's going to be great playing further up anyway, so this season he can fill in wherever we need him to, so long as he gets regular starts.
