We've been linked to virtually every player under the value of £30m, but for me I'm more interested in good players that cost less than £20m

Micah Richards at RB/CB £7-£8m
Ashley Cole LB Free / Fabio Coentrao LB £10-£12m
Mascher £8-£12m
Remy FW £8m

This will add depth and quality imho.

Richards - unless we sell GlenJo, no point (3-4 RBs is too much imo - Flanno, Kelly, GlenJo & McLaughlin in the wings)
Cole - would be an excellent pick up. Coentrao cannnot defend - stay away.
Mascherano - Would be happy if he signed, but only if we sell Lucas.
Remy - would be a very good signing.

we still need 2-3 more quality players imo.

Flanno provides good cover for LB
Kelly needs to move on, too injury prone
Glen Jo is too inconsistent
Micah Richards also provides versatility CB
Coentrao - Would fit into a attack minded team.

Wouldn't signing 8 players create a Spurs type of situation?

Id take Richards and Lescott.
Cole is too much.

Other than those two I want big time first teamers.

I agree that Richards could be a steal. I saw him standing around during their title celebrations and couldn't believe he was still on City's squad.

This is a wishlist I'd expect from AC Milan if they were playing in England

Draxler £35m
Shaw £30m
Luis Muriel £18m
Markovic £25m
Tah* £15m?
Carvalho* £30m

* we've been linked to them recently, and as little as I know about them, I very much like the idea of what they could become.

That's pretty much my dream transfer window. £153m. No problem.

Javi Martinez
Alexis Sanchez
Adam Lallana
Luke Shaw

As much below 100 million as possible / if possible

Then the likes of:

Remy
Caulker/Winston Reid
Diame
Half decent right back

If we can scrape any more money together

Might not be totally realistic but this is a wish list

Bit of a bizarre one but.....................if anyone is watching Fleetwood v York tonight (as if) keep an eye on York's goalie Nick Pope who is on loan from Chartlon (he's Charlton's 3rd choice keeper!).

Daft as it sounds for us to be interested in Charlton's 3rd choice keeper, I saw him last week in the 1st leg and he was superb. He's 22 and about 6'5" very agile, very commanding and very confident.

Obviously having only seen him once I'm hardly in a position to suggest he's gonna be great but I'm looking forward to seeing him again tonight to see if he is as good 2nd time around. York's defensive record was poor UNTIL they signed him and since he signed they have the best defensive record in the division.

Having had a succession of shite young keepers I'm sure we could get this guy for as little as £100k and who knows he could end up being an excellent back up to Ming (or even challenge Ming's position eventually).

I'll probably be on here tomorrow apologising for this post after Pope has a mare.

I sometimes wonder if you're just pushing this lower league expert shitck as far as you can just to see how fucking stupid we all are.

'yeah, Cambridge City's target man, quality he is. Worth a punt at £250. Oh aye, yeah. I was down at AFC Didsbury the other week btw. Worth checking them out. Nippy little Irish striker, Oscar O'Gole, could be the next big thing. Oh yep.'

I'll get a home kit with the player's name if any of them is signed. 😛

Ricardo Rodriguez
Juan Cuadrado
Lars Bender
Koke
Alexis Sanchez

A few points Peter, firstly about 90% of my posts regarding lower league players are in response to questions about these players by other posters.

Secondly, LFC for decades relied on lower league signings such as Keegan & Clemence (Scunthorpe), Phil Neal (Northampton), John Barnes (Watford), Alan Hansen (Partick Thistle), Aldridge & Houghton (Oxford United), Ian Rush (Chester City) etc, etc.........we dominated Europe with these players and many more from the lower leagues. In the last 20 years the top teams seem to prefer shopping overseas and if they sign a lower league player it's only from one division lower. This does not mean there are still not many, many very talented players in Division one and two whose talents are being wasted.

In the last 7 seasons I have only STRONGLY recommended 3 players.....Joe Hart of Shrewsbury I suggested we offrered £250,000 for him about 6 months before City signed him, Danny Ings of Bournemouth I suggested we should offer £1m and Nick Powell of Wigan who I suggested we offered £1m for about a year before United bought him for £4m (in fairness we probably would have had to pay over £2m for him).

Finally, put me on ignore.....problem solved.

OK, I think it might be possible to start guessing the outline of Rodgers' transfer priorities, judging by the number and the quality of the links in each position. Here is how it looks to me:

Top priority:
  • Left-back. Judging by the sheer number of players we've been linked with and the profile of most of them (top young LBs in the game), that's clearly a top priority for this summer. We are ready to invest in someone with a potential to be our long-term LB. Unless we sign Ashley Cole and thus postpone having to deal with this problem by another year.
  • Attacking midfielder/playmaker. By this I mean a player who can play in the same range of positions as Coutinho: CM, AM, and possibly on the wing too. Lallana is a clear front-runner, Shaqiri is also a player in this mould and Rakitic might be a target too, if he is not prohibitively expensive.
  • Centre-back. The long list of rumored targets and talk about Agger leaving means we will in all probability sign at least one CB this summer.
Medium priority:
  • Back-up DM. Rodgers seems to think it's time to find someone who will eventually replace Gerrard in his current position and for now can be his back-up at DM as well as Allen and Henderson's competition at CM. I think a young player for this position is very likely.
  • 3rd striker. Rodgers is clearly looking for someone to replace Aspas. Doesn't seem like he trusts Borini to be the 3rd option behind Suarez and Sturridge.
  • Back-up GK. Nobody likes to rotate goalkeepers, but Rodgers also doesnt want to depend on any one player's form. He is looking to give Mignolet stronger competition.
Low priority/unclear:
  • Winger. The interest in Konoplyanka seems to have died down; there are a few other wingers linked, but it's not clear how serious those links are. Some of the young wingers linked in the papers might be just the players we are scouting just as a matter of course.
  • Right-back. It seems like the club have decided to keep Johnson for one more season and deal with the task of replacing him in the winter or next summer. But if they still might take a chance on somebody if there is a good deal to be had.

RB/CB - Richards 7mil
LB - Rojo 15mil

1 CM 1. Martinez 22mil, 2. Song 15mil, 3. Mascher 9mill

Playmaker Lallana 18mil

Forwards 1 of: Kono 18mil, Shaqiri 18mil or Sanchez 22mil

*I'd bring back FB as our third striker*
