Transfer Rumours

Graeme Kelly (twitter self-styled ITK, seems to get a fair bit right) going on about Di Maria making his interest known re switch to Liverpool (having fobbed us off some weeks ago).

He knows his stuff. Could be worth keeping an eye on.
Sounds plausible if he realises his options are PSG or nothing when Real sign Rodriguez.

Well if there's any truth in it it'll mean he comes on more reasonable wages than might have been the case a few weeks ago. .

No point in getting our hopes up as that usually ends badly. Will just be a nice surprise if it comes off.

What does Di Maria bring that Sterling doesn't have, or almost have, already ? Do we really want to spunk a load on a player that we don't really need ? I think Di Maria is great - but don't think we need him. Prefer we spend that money strengthening weaker areas.

Di Maria has less kids and won't be so tired as he won't be up all night changing nappies and warning bottles.

I've no idea if he has any kids to be honest.

You make it sound like another more developed Sterling isn't something we could use.

We can't compete with the prices being quoted by PSG though. 45M is about the max we can spend.

I don't mind him being here, I just don't want to read about Utd in any detail. Maybe I'm being grumpy but if he wants to discuss Utd seriously and in depth he could, you know, join a fucking Utd forum!

You are being grumpy. Go have a valium or something. I don't mind him being here in the slightest.

RE. Our newbie...Aye, don't understand it myself, but he's come in a calm manner and is polite enough so leave him be. Also, it could be midly amusing (depending on how he takes it) when the 'rebuild' isn't as easy as most Mancs seem to think it will be.

I might be quiffing, but we've been linked with a £60m bid for Pogba, while also looking at Vidal.

Just sayin.

Sterling is still young. I really rate him and hope he will continue to progress at the same rate but wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have the finished product on our books whilst Sterling and co are still developing.

I wouldn't sign Di Maria for mad money (40M) plus but around the 30M mark would be good value.

For arguments sake lets say we have Di Maria at RM, this is going to mean moving Sterling somewhere which in turn will affect Coutinho / Lallana / Markovic. I just wouldn't see the point, they are not going to improve sitting on the bench. Now money spent on Pogba/Vidal (Mark's comment above) would be much better use of that money.

Admittedly I'm not a gambler but I don't get these odds. Where's the 'staying put' option? Or do you get your money back if they don't move?

They are on moves before 1st September. Money back ?! You are not a gambler are you 😉

If you want there are separate odds for : Staying Put / Moving to any club.

Well, Di Maria would start on the left more than likely. One or two will end up missing out regardless of which name comes in - certainly would've been the case with Sanchez (who given the choice Id have preferred).

Pogba eh. I like the cut of your quiff.

Pogba's a star already and there's no telling how good he could become. In many ways (including the fact that he slipped through the Mancs' fingers previously, plus Juve might have to rethink selling Vidal to the Mancs if Pogba leaves) I'd love to see him in Liverpool red. What would worry me would be the effect that splashing £60 mill.on him would have on the signings - particularly in defence - that we still need to make.

You're thinking straight. I'm not. I'm just chilling here enjoying the quiff.

Put down the quiff, you've had too much. Im unsure about pogba, he seems a bit like a bell, id rather have isco or reus
