Arteta and benny to Arsenal ?...some of their fans will be thinking that these aren't the worse deals but it will be like when we lost Alonso and Mascherano , we replaced them and tried to be positive and think we might be ok but the fact is it was a massive lost to our team .And it's the same here with arsenal , these signings are nothing special at all and they're still alot weaker than before .

Why on earth does the window close at 11? Wouldn't 12 make more sense?

Seems a bit daft alright.

Is it the same window across Europe? If it is then 11PM makes sense as it is midnight CET.

actually , is someone able to confirm ? Aren't football league clubs able to make loan signings until later into the season ? In the last few season it seems alot wait until prem clubs confirm their 25 man squads then they go in for loan deals . So in the case of someone like Jones , if he moves out i'd imagine it might be a loan deal to a championship team like he did last yr .

i'd be fucking furious if i was an arsenal fan. mertesacker looks a good deal, granted, but the others are little better than journeymen, and £20m or so is going to remain unspent (unavailable?) when it's far from certain they'll get back in the top 4.

great for us, though.

Arteta is/was a good player but I'd have concerns over his injury record and the fact that he's about as lightweight as the rest.

Once again Wenger fails to address the issue of a lack of spine in the side.

Arteta and Benne are two very good bits of business from Wenger, IMO. Along with the other signings he's made.

yeah and if you believe reports , they could have had a few players (maybe mata and certainly Cahill) if they offered just a little more . I don't know what they're playing at but hopefully it helps us out and quite frankly I'm happy to see Wenger's youth policy falter -it was hyped to high heaven but hasn't won any trophies like everyone said it would.

I'd say slightly better than average. Certainly not typical wenger-signings...except they're both lightweight.

Believe all is sorted at the #mcfc end with Bellamy. All depends on those knees now. #LFC

The Bellers news put a wide grin on my face. Pleased.

Diego has joined Atletico Madrid on loan from Wolfsburg.

Seems Poulson to Evian is definitely a sale and not a loan.

[/quote]As much as I would like to see Johnson at Liverpool I really doubt if Man City would allow him to come here, even it was more financially beneficial for to them to do so.

People saying it was Artetas wage demands that ended it. That seems to be Arsenals problem more than the actual fees.
