Tough games left

If we were to go and win all of our remaining games then conceivably we could finish in the Champions league places.
We won't win every game.

Fulham are 10th, I don't see them fearing relegation too much and will probably be safe in the penultimate game.

I also have a feeling that QPR will be safe by the time we play them.

Oops, sure one less tough game but nevertheless the others are tough. There are no easy games in the PL..

4th is completely doable. We're only 7 points of it with what, 9 still to play?

Arsenal and Chelsea are dropping a lot of points here and there. So are Everton. Ok, we have been guilty of that too. But we're on a good run. If we can even narrow the gap by another 3 or 4 points, Chelsea and Arsenal will shit themselves because they'll be under pressure to win. I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but it's definitely doable. A lot of hard work needed though.

Our game against Chelsea will be clinical.

critical.

I agree NM, that worries me somewhat, i'm sure rafa will get them up for that and he is good at the one off games.... unless of course he sets them up to lose and then whips of his chelsea suit jacket to reveal a liverpool shirt.

BUT ...

please Mr.Threadstarter.... one game at a time. Just one.

Fuck '4th' or 'big games' - the biggest game we have is Soton away. If things go well there, the next big one is Astona Villa away. Win both of those, we can talk about about West Ham at home.

I don't see why you were called a pessimist for that at all.. that IS the Liverpool way... every game like it is your last and one at a time.

It was telling that every time Brendan has come out and spouted pots of gold we've come a cropper.....

One at a time as though your life depends on it....thats the way....It breeds respect for your opponent and for the game itself and ultimately makes you into winners regardless of whether there is a trophy or not because you aint faking it.

YES it is possible we could win all our remaining games but that don't count for jack shit, YES we are playing some really lovely stuff right now....fucking mentally good in spells in fact... again.... not important...

The only thing which fucking matters is that we do everything we can to tear Soton a new one next up and put 3 more points on the board.

Possibly longer, as they (Arsenal fans) fear Wenger is downplaying the exctent of the injury.
Same ankle as the long term injury.

It's of course good for us but can you really be happy about it? I don't mind Wilshere and it's never nice to see a talented young player go through injury after injury.

Mind you, if it was Bale...

It's an in-joke.

After a lot of deliberation, I think "crucial" was actually the word I meant to use.

I blame the dyslexia.

I'm surprised some posters dismiss the games against the relegation threatened sides. Have previous seasons thought you nothing?

That two game spell for Chelsea (v Tottenham/ v us) is crucial. Lose both of them and they're then faced with a trip to Old Trafford 2 games later. Meanwhile, we're breathing down their necks if we carry on as late.

We can do this.

You rubbing it in with Nealmac?

Our current away form (4W, 6D, 4L) is what separates us from the likes of Chelsea and Spurs, as they have almost similar home records as us, but have more wins away (8 for Spurs, 7 for Chelsea).

I looked at the tables since the inception of the Premier League - we've actually won 10 or more away games in a season just 3 times since 1992 - in 01/02, 05/06 and 08/09.

We've got 5 away games left, so this will be another season where we won't hit the elusive 10 away win mark. How we rue stupid points dropped at City, Arsenal and Everton (unfairly). Hopefully, we'll be able to get a good string of victories in the remaining away trips and build on that for the new season.

I would laugh my balls off if Rafa took Chelsea to 5th and we finished above them.
