Great preview
You mention that Spurs would deploy a high defensive line and since Sturridge is out it may work well for them but I have to disagree, I think that Couthino, along with Sterling and Suarez, can really exploit a high line and their high line could work to our advantage

Good preview, as per usual mate.

Doesn't fill me with confidence, but then it shouldn't, there's a lot of things going against us on paper in this match.

It's football though, so anything can happen, we should have trounced Hull for example, so I'm nervous, but hopeful.

Rory's posts are always superb. I have done some analysis of my own;
1. AVB is like me trying to do sign language at Nelson Mandela's funeral i.e.spunk at his job
2. Spurs have signed tons of fucking duffers which is hilarious in the extreme

Absolutely, no way we are going out there to roll over and when we get possession, we are well capable of moving up the pitch and causing worries for their defence. I do think, on the whole, Mignolet will be the busier keeper and we need to take our chances when they come along.

Sterling should be able to keep there back four worried from going too far up, only Walker could attempt to keep up with him. Likewise Suarez will run in behind them, we can tell by how often he's caught offside that he loves doing this, Henderson can shift when in full stride as well, and there's also Moses. This will be a big game for Coutinho as he'll get play the balls in behind to exploit there high line.

A key battle for us will be to take control of possession, Spurs' game, and that high line rely on possession, City dominated the possession as they have three absolutely fantastic midfielders, and as a result they put Spurs to the sword, we need our midfield to have a big game so we can do the same, I think Allen will be key.

I still think they're going to get an undeserved 2-1 win.

With a lack of real attacking midfield play from us (bar Coutinho), them playing two DM's might suit us, as they will sit off us and we will (hopefully) stay compact in the middle and look to utilise Suarez and Sterling's ability to get around the defense.

I can see them pressing high again with two attacking players in behind to pressure Lucas and Allen and hopefully isolate whoever is ahead of them in the midfield triangle.

Haven't Spurs been terrible in every match after a Europa League clash?

We should be fresher than them, were in better form than them, were missing two key players and playing away.

I think this match has a fairly even feel prior to kick off..
