Everton - Previewing the Opposition

Best prematch review yet for me so far. Brilliant!

It does seem really strange that Osman is being played ahead of Barkley. why is this? Does he lose possession more I wonder? Limiting the Baines/Pienaar combo does seem to be vital (other than keeping an eye on Lukaku). This will be a proper test for us. 1-1

We've had some top class players.

It's a bit sad watching that vid. Anelka, Garcia, Alonso, Mascherano, El Whore...

Rodgers says that Sturridge has had a dead leg for a few weeks now. Kolo Toure had a knock but is back training.

Might Aspas come in as a second striker or is he injured? Potential quiffing as I have not read the preview yet!

Assuming no injuries, I think we'll see:

----------------Mignolet-----------------
Johnson---Skrtel---Sakho---Cissokho
------------------Lucas--------------------
-Henderson--Gerrard---Coutinho----
------------Sturridge--Suarez-----------

Its just absurd that Sturridge played 90 mins with an injury. I hate Hodgson and pointless friendlies.

I'd play:

Mignolet
Johnson Skrtel Sakho Cissokho
Lucas Allen
Henderson Gerrard Coutinho
Suarez

We need to win the midfield battle in this game and take control. I dont want to play a CB as a full back. Play Cissokho and hope that he steps up.

Hope he steps up? In a Merseyside Derby at Goodison? There's fuck all evidence thus far to suggest he will.

I hope to God he doesn't play.

I'd rather play him then someone out of position. That usually doesnt end well.

I expect (but don't want) Lucas to start and, if I'm correct, then I don't want Allen to start. Anytime Allen & Lucas have started together our midfield has looked frail and vulnerable and we can't go into a merseyside derby with such a midfield.

My preference.......................

............................Mignolet............................
Glenjo...........Skrtel.........Sakho.......Cissokho
.............................Henderson......................
..................Allen.................Gerrard.............
............................Coutinho......................
.................Suarez.............Sturridge..............

Obviously we lack width but we're not blessed with decent wide options; the front 5 though can all go wide at various times when required. This team would prevail 0-2.

So England have fucked Studgey by the sounds of things. More reasons to hate Woy. Maybe we should keep with 2 up front and play Moses? Or play 4-2-3-1

.......... Mignolet............................
Glenjo...........Skrtel.........Sakho.......Flanno

.....................Lucas........Gerrard..............

......Hendo...........Coutinho...........Sterling/Moses

.............................Suarez............................

4-2-3-1 with Moses seem to be a decent shout

The only reason I suggest Sterling is that Moses has the defensive instincts of Berbatov on valium. Flanno might receive a tad more protection with Sterling there.
