Mourinho at last giving Klopp some respect

I think we're better when we play every couple of days. Give them a week off and they go to shite.

I think it’s more our fitness levels mean we can cope with games in quick succession but other teams can’t so we have a yard on them.

When other teams have a week too then get put under more pressure especially in CM and we all know we don’t have the greatest midfield under pressure on the ball.

Great, but why is 21 games special?

It’s 21 games since the start of the season. Another way to put it, it’s the best league start of the season by anyone in the history of European football (top 5 leagues only).

That’s pretty much what Klopp said afterwards. “We have to be honest to ourselves. A slightly longer break is good physically but it costs you rhythm. We can do better.”

I think that Robbo one on Aurier could've been nasty. He got the ball, yeah, but he's gone over the top and we've seen reds given for tackles not much worse than that. Yellow for me, with my red-tinted glasses on.

Edit, it wasn't Aurier. It was that random kid Mourinho threw in.

That was NOT A TACKLE. The young Spurs defender was the one attempting to tackle/block the ball, Robbo had the ball in attack and was trying to cross it. It’s an unfortunate collision and yes, it could have resulted in an injury, but completely unintentional on Robbo’s part and not even a yellow IMO.

I also said it in a group chat. Defo before klopp. Dunno if it was before Woland though.

We never look that good with breaks of more than a few days.

I think you've got your rose tinted specs on there. He wasn't just playing the ball as he knew he'd overhit it.

I don't think it was a red but it was definitely a foul and a booking.

Was trying to say the same thing on page 17 of this thread. This team of ours are boss when we have less time between consecutive games. Think Klopp should shut the fuck up about too many fixtures.

That Robertson tackle isn’t even a foul, it’s one of those unfortunate instances where you nick the ball and catch the other guy. Unless it’s also one of those where the ref deems it reckless or dangerous. I thought any red talk would have been in regard to that weird flick of the foot at Alderweirelds shin?

There is a difference between playing often enough to keep us sharp and running the players in to the ground.

I know - but it could be that Klopp decided to actually give them a break in terms of the number of training sessions in the last 5 days - just to actually give them a break after the mass fixtures over December. Other people on here will know more obviously.

Eh...If we're still in the FA cup and CL in a few months and the league has been decided, I wouldn't mind it if Klopp rested certain players. Just seems like the logical thing to do.
We've rested players against Everton in the FA Cup, doesn't mean we are going to throw the game away or Klopp telling the players they don't have to try and go all season without losing.

Danny Mills in Asian tele compared us to Leicester win, saying during that season a lot of teams were rubbish and they win it easily. He must have not done mathematics when he was a kid. We are now holding the highest Point Per Game tally at 2.90 so far, higher than City 100 point win at 2.63 and higher than the invincible Arsenal who had 2.37pts per game. How are we having the same run like what Leicester did, just because City is having a small blip.
