For what it's worth, I still think Joe Allen is a decent little footballer. Every time he looked like he was getting into some form for us he broke down with another injury.

He wasn't helped by all the stupid expectation thrown on him by Rodgers and all the Welsh Xavi crap.

Brad Smith, Sebastian Coates, Lambert, Borini, Aspas, Carroll, Downing. Aquilani, Dossena, Konchesky, Jovanovic, Insua, Josemi, Leto, Kromkamp, Morientes, Vignal, Pellegrini, Westerveld, Paul fucking Ince, Mark Kennedy, Julian Dicks

But that's just a list of poor players. Of that list I probably only really believed in Aquilani, Carroll and Mark Kennedy. I had a soft spot for Morientes, but was worried this wouldn't fit him. Don't know why I was convinced Kennedy would cut it, but I thought he looked to have something different. Carroll I still like, and I wish we could get more out of him. I was actually irritated when we sold Carroll as he wasn't our type of player but bought Benteke a year later. I rate Carroll Ahead of him. Aquilani I just thought was a brilliant player, and I have a soft spot for Rome.

Yeah he was/is. I'm sure his "ceiling" was probably higher than his availability and fitness allowed him to realise, such is the case with loads of players.
