Hopefully this hasn't been posted elsewhere. Nicked from yesterday's live webchat...............

On Purslow:

"Purslow is still at the club in a non-executive role, ie in title only. He has no influence on the owners or their decisions."

"Purslow told Pep he could choose his own GK coach after Valero left only for Pep to have 68-year-old Mike Kelly foisted upon him."

"Roy Hodgson was Purslow's appointment. Joe Cole was pursued by Purslow from early in the year even though Benitez didn't want him"

On Dalgish / Future manager

"Dalglish will definitely give the younger players a chance and don't be surprised if he fast tracks a couple of kids from the academy"

"NESV have created a monster by appointing KD. If LFC do even remotely well no one will want him to leave the manager's position but the owners have their hearts set on a younger man."

"I like Owen Coyle, he's a very promising manager who plays the game the right way + is also steeped in philosophies of Shanks + Kenny"

"Shanks and Kenny are Coyle's heroes. If Liverpool were to look to a British manager then he would be the obvious choice"

On Luis Suarez

"I'm not sure a move for Suarez is imminent but I keep hearing the same rumours as you"

"LFC have definitely been keeping tabs on Suarez, both DC + his predecessor Macia have been regular watchers of Ajax this season."

On Konchesky and Poulsen

"I can't see Poulsen or Konchesky being Liverpool players come the start of the next season"

On new signings

"At least there is no longer a need 2 worry about the Carlton Cole or Robert Huth inflicting their journeyman abilities on club though."

"The manager has just changed + I've got feeling that will mean the profile of players LFC are looking to recruit will change also."

"RH prioritised height + while it's true LFC are lacking in this department I've got a feeling that Dalglish will put skill, passing ability and speed higher on his list of requirements."

Just like the criteria used to pick the primary school team.

I don't like the 'Ani-Cole' ideas that niether Roy nor Rafa wanted him. When he was signed it was one of the coups of the summer.. a £15million player for 'free' with Chelsea paying nearly £6mill for Benayoun, who was hardly setting the world alight for us.. I know Cole is yet to sparkle, but has anyone sparkles unto Roy bar Merieles? Kuyt, Torres, Johnson and Reina have dipped massively and I believe Cole can raise his game to their expected levels.

'Damien, this Suarez on your list, I really don't like him, I know him well and I'm not comfortable with him. He's too short. So we take him off. We replace him with Carlton Cole. I like my players big and tall, I do. And shit.

Hopefully we'll get to see more from the younger players. Shelvey came on against man U. Hopefully Pacheco will given a chance as well.

NESV might have created a monster but it's only fair that Dalglish continues if he does well.

He might play Suso.
[/quote]
Hopefully. But we won't see him tomorrow considering that he just played for the reserves.
The same goes for Pacheco as well.

I'm not overly confident about Barrett and his "insider knowledge".

He kept saying there was nobody interested in buying the club, then NESV popped up and he went strangely quiet for a while.

if they (nesv) do decide to go with a younger guy then I hope they go for villas boas.
obviously I hope they stick with kenny if he does well.

True, plus he was all over the Chinese connection a while back, so I'm not too sure about him either.

that assumes we'll be able to sell them.

I'd imagine it'll be fairly easy but we're bound to make a loss.

Depends what wages they're on here, and if they're prepared to take a cut if necessary to get first team football again.

They won't be, so it'll cost us even more to settle those deals.

True, in light of everything that's happened though I can't see Konch wanting to stick around.

kenny - 'I think you both are fucking shit and would like to move you on asap, would you mind dropping your wage demands to make that happen?'

PFK/poulson - 'sure, no problem, do you want fries with that?'

We can pray that Hodgson has got a managerial gig (West Ham job coming up) and sell them on to him. Fuck we might even make a profit!

The bit about us following Ajax closely fills me with confidence.

Not so much beacuse of the Suarez-link but more so because of their attacking midfielder in Christian Eriksen.

If that player doesn't tick all the boxes of NESV's young, talented player strategy no-one does.

He struggled a bit after the World Cup, especially because of the now former Ajax-manager Martin Jol's newly found preference of 4-4-2 instead of the 'Ajax-invention' of 4-3-3. In this new setup he was mainly used as one of the CM's instead of the more forward role he was getting used to in their 'normal' set-up.

As soon as Jol went and Frank de Boer was promoted to manager however the 4-3-3 formation got reinstated immediately and in Ajax' first match - away at AC Milan - Ajax not only won, Eriksen played a blinder in the no. 10 role in behind Suarez. Not only did he cover the most ground (13km) of all he sprayed passes left, rigth and center and made Ajax tick like a unit.

In their following game back in Holland he became match-winner, scoring Ajax' only goal in a tricky away match.

What impresses me the most about this young lad is his game-intelligence and awareness. When you combine these hard-to-learn attributes with an incredible first-touch, good pace and nicely developed skills, you've got quite a player on your hand.

He's only 18-years-old and already one of the most exciting players I've ever seen, why the comparison (as bold as it may be) to a young Michael Laudrup is somewhat understandable.

If I were in charge I'd go all in for this kid come Summer, him and Suso could turn out to be an absolutely stunning partnership in years to come. We missed out on the original Laudrup during Kenny's first stint as Liverpool-manager, this is his chance to make ammends.*

*This last bit has been well and truely sensationalized for your reading pleasure only... or something... soz.

Biased (and spot on 77 times out of a 100).

Khl doesn't seem to be that far off the mark other than when he's commentating on his fellow countrymen

At which point he becomes ALWAYS WRONG 😉

HA!

For every 99 Aggers there'll be only one Poulsen. Promise.
