2-0

Great ball in. Great header from their new CB, who looks very good.

Shite defending.

Cracking header by Vermalen - Andy Gray will be jizzing all over that during the highlights show. Vermalen has looked good today.

I think people are dismissing Arsenal too easily; their squads full of talent so who knows.

However I still reckon Everton will be top 7 and Arsenal to finish third or forth.

So are Everton gonna implode this season or Arsenal perform better than predicated?

The former. Everton's defending has been comical to say the least.

It was mentioned, I forget by whom, that Arsenal will have some big wins but some surprising loses, especially over Winter, this season. Are they going to make up 18 points this season ? Are they like fuck.

Bit of both.

I've said all summer long that Arsenal are being written off far too readily. But also, as said, Everton have been awful.

I quite like ESPN.....
It's a very low-key start, but then Ray Stubbs is never going to be the man for Keys-like hype. I was looking forward to watching MOTD until the twit kindly gave all the results away. That old Likely Lads episode gets more implausible with each passing season.

The S*n promoting dickhead Ian Wright talking his usual nonsense. ESPN ought to avoid the bloke, he's hardly eloquent at the best of times.

Are Ian Wright & co actually at the match, or is that two huge screens at the back, showing the ground & giving that impression?

I'm thinking the latter, but it's very clever if so.

Nobody wrote Arsenal off.

In fact, I listed them down as the biggest threat to the title this season.

If they get an experienced midfield enforcer in, they will push everyone all the way to the finishing line.

Hope our 'tricky opening fixture' goes this way.
If it does that will be at least SEVEN away wins on the opening day. Don't like the odds.
