They've only recently got money though

Chelsea?
That's right but they've still spunked almost half a billion on players haven't they? And they do not look like they're going to win anything of note anytime soon either.
I'm not questioning the obvious fact that teams with endless budgets will alway be at the top or thereabouts but they won't necessarily win anything of note. There are, luckily, other factors than money influencing on whether success will be achieved or not.

That is of course correct, but I am surprised you are making that point, given that it doesn't sit very well with your previous stance on Mourinho (looking better than he is because he has had money)

Mourinho overtook a very expensive assembled team spiced up with the likes of their almost homegrown players in Lampard and Terry and he got another £200M to spunk on star-players in a league where no-one else had that kind of spending-power available at the time. It was obvious that it gave him a head-start to his Chelsea-career I would've thought. He got the job done but was eventually sacked for not winning the one trophy the owner craved the most.
Inter's spunked a lot of money too and was obviously helped along with the Calciopoli-scandal relegating Juve to the Serie B and starting AC Milan on minus a lot of points. Inter's gone from good to great whereas their fiercest rivals has been on a decline.
Real however also bought players for millions and millions over the past years and still hasn't made it further than the 1/4-finals in the Champions League for quite some time now, which has spelled the end of a few managers jobs over the past years. Time will show whether Mourinho will turn it around of course. At this point I doubt it.
Perhaps Citeh will enjoy success but there's a good chance they won't either - at least not year in year out - as the level of competition in England is far better now than only five years ago.
Anyways keypoint for me is 'necessarily'. You don't necessarily enjoy loads of success just because you've got shitloads of money to spend. Especially not today where you are not the only one.
