ill agree that Rafa lost the plot a little.........

however... for a lot of last season we were without Torres AND Gerrard.

I still think Rafa was high when he made a lot of his transfer decisions.. we had huge gaps in significant areas throughout his reign..

however... nobody can doubt his tactical nouse.. and if he had the same squad this season we would be doing a lot better than we are now...

i think the change was correct... but why someone with a similar philosophy but with half the ability to implement it?

To sum it up... Rafa's team played like shite last year but still seemed to play like a unit... This year we havent looked like scoring and our defensive is pathetic.

We didn't play like a unit at all last season.

The performances were just as bad.

The only difference is we had Mascherano running around like a mad man saving our skins at lot of the time.

I went with keep the caretaker Manager till the end of the season as we won't be able to get that Porto Manager till the summer at the earliest. (He's the one I want)

There is logic to this, but how will we keep our stars if we finish mid table, would Torres stay on a team that finished 10th?

If Torres wants to leave, then sadly he leaves. Or maybe he can be reminded he's under contract and as a player he's partly responsible for whatever position we are in. This argument's been done to death, no player is bigger than the club and the club decides if he leaves or stays.

We've proven adept at seeing our best players leave whilst seeing other clubs screw us over.

to be fair to roy he did take the game to spurs, will be interesting to see if he continues to carry the fight to the opposition away from home.

I don't want to reopen old arguments about how that game panned out, neil. Let's just say I agree with the second bit of your post, but would add that he has still to prove he can make it work even if he does continue with that approach, as it's foreign to what he's done for so long.
