We spent a guaranteed £20.4m on Aquilani and Kyrgiakos.

I guess we'll get more depending on appearances, winning titles etc in the long run? But if they didn't play another game and their respective clubs failed to win any silver wear while they were employed by them, thats the minimum figure we'd recieve?

The good news is that Xabi, Voronin and Dossena are far more likely to win titles than Aquilani and Zorba.

Only a small porportion of Aquas fee was performance related, the rest still had to be paid but just over the course of 4 or 5 years. I f we sold him early we would still have to pay roma the 5 mil a season. Thats why I dont get this we only paid 5mil for him we didn't.

The 5M payment just relates to the payment we made up front. There have been several reports suggesting that Rafa was only given 5M to spend out of the Alonso money and that's why he had to wheel and deal to get someone like Aqua. Who knows.
