I'm usually in the Thurs sale, but this time I find myself in the Wednesday sale with 4 credits from last season. How quickly do those usually sell out - will it be similar to the Thurs sale with all gone after about an hour or so?

@ILD @the count you guys are usually on the ball with this stuff. Cheers.

I had more than four matches on my cards for last season and was able to purchase tickets for all the A grade games that I wanted.
That said I did the usual of having multiple devices and browsers trying to get on line that day so while it is easier than the jungle that is the general sale, it isn't a shoo in either.
I am planning on buying the same games this season if I can.

Just signed up for light membership after having full membership twice before (gotta stress I do live 200 miles away so not able to make every game)

but I hate the whole 'have recorded x number of games the season before', let it just be a first come first serve basis FFS with season holders getting 1st priority and members over the general sale.

You having a laugh?? You saying someone with 1 game on their card from last season should get the same chance to get tickets than someone on 17-18 credits for likes of United and Everton? Or any game really.

So they have staggered it 13 games and then it drops down to 4 games for the 'bigger' games?

@the count, 13 games and a drop to 8 games would have suited you better due to you accumulating 8+ last season.

@jon545660, no real strategy really. Have two browsers opened as Paul said and be ready to select tickets asap. Don't waste time picking 'nicer' seats. Go straight for a pair in the Anny Rd and get them into your basket asap. Screenshot your basket the website crashed before you purchase.

Is it one card per seat, or could one member card get 2 tickets? Think I will be getting membership this season..

Yea, ten games last season.
I know that previously there was a tiered number of games required for the category A starting at about seven.
That would have suited but I am still hopeful of getting the games I want, on Wednesday at least.

ONE seat equals one seat but if you are linked to other members you can buy seats on their cards up to a maximum of four for any one game.

Anybody else trying to get tickets this morning?
It really is a joke.
More that an hour to wait on all my devices.
Unless they are only letting one punter in at a time there is no way there will be any tickets left by the time I get in.

Liverpool FC has apologised for the “wholly unacceptable” issues fans have faced trying to get member tickets for the new season and has vowed to quickly review its systems.
Yesterday hundreds of loyal Reds supporters found themselves waiting for hours as the club’s website crashed at the start of the member ticket sale.
Many reported being kicked off the site and pushed to the back of the queue - meaning they missed out on some of the major Anfield fixtures of the new season.
Now the club has apologised to fans and said that a planned review of how it carries out the ticket member sale will be sped up.
A statement released to members last night said: “This morning we had our Official Members’ sale to Members who qualify with 13 or more games from the 2016/17 Season.
“We experienced a number of technical issues that whilst now resolved, were wholly unacceptable.

“The Club will now be looking to accelerate an already planned system review.”
The statement added: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and assure supporters that we share the frustration and will be looking to find solutions that satisfy both the Club requirements and more importantly those of our loyal supporters.”
It is understood that the issues began because the third party server the Reds’ website uses for its ticket sales believed it was under attack due to the sheer volume of traffic on it and so shut down.
This meant that hundreds of fans who had been waiting in a queue for their tickets were booted off the site and when they rejoined found themselves at the back of the queue.

While the club maintain that its guarantee that every member who had attended 13 or more games last season would receive at least one ticket was upheld - it is thought many may have missed out on tickets to other clashes because of the problems.
News of an accelerated review of the system will be welcomed by the fans union the Spirit of Shankly, whose chairman Jay McKenna has lobbied for changes.
He said: “This wasn’t the first time that this has happened and it isn’t good enough.
“We think there has to be a simpler way to do this and that is what we will be having an open and honest dialogue with the club about.”

That Membership ticket system has been a shambles since it began....

I bought several memberships over the years to not even go to 1 game at Anfield in that time....

I (probably like a lot of others) stopped buying the membership as it is a waste of money if you cannot get tickets.

The whole way it is done let alone the system put in place to sell these tickets needs a massive overhaul.

Gave up after 2 hours and the site telling me still more than an hour to wait. Fucking shambles.

Gave up when they replaced the fan card for the whole membership scheme. Just attend a couple of friendlies during the season and the odd general sale the rest on tv via dodgy internet. Cost is way too much to justify it and paying for membership whilst still having a shit ticketing operation is a joke. Bought tickets for the Wigan friendly, all done in 5 minutes and a piece of piss even giving me the option to print the tickets at home or work thus saving postage costs. No booking fees either. Granted I wanted to be in the Liverpool end but Lfc website is saying I need to book tickets via the ticket office in person, yeah not driving all that way.

The site's problems seem to be on an awful cycle that compound the issues. The wait times are erratic and unpredictable by all accounts - this then means that the majority of people have multiple browsers/ devices in the queue. This traffic then causes a greater set of issues which ultimately give a terrible user experience.

It is understood that the issues began because the third party server the Reds’ website uses for its ticket sales believed it was under attack due to the sheer volume of traffic on it and so shut down.

Some of the IT guys can explain more here but surely the club could have informed whoever is behind the server to expect high volumes of traffic?

I'm more amazed (if they haven't already done so) that it isn't completely outsourced. For things like this that aren't a competitive differentiator, why risk running it ourselves when we can get someone for whom it is their bread and butter to do so.

What's the situation with ID checks right now?

I might go to the Soton match with someone else's card.

Just be savvy when you enter the stadium. Know where you are sitting so you don't have to ask a steward for assistance. Have seat details on your phone. Don't walk around the ground in a state of confusion that would motivate a steward to ask to see your card and seat details. If he think that you aren't the card holder he can hold it and ask you to collect it at the ticket office. You will need ID to collect it.

To summarise, walk in, find your seat, don't engage with stewards.

The hoops we go through to pay through the nose to watch a bunch of multi-millionnaire arseholes barely give a shit.
To paraphrase a poker saying:
"The person who invented football was smart. Whoever invented supporting a football club was a genius."
