I've heard it's easier to get them off touts now if you don't mind paying over the odds, as they're selling the ticket on a phone you can buy off Alibaba for 30 quid and you can keep it or bin it when you leave the ground. You couldn't do that with fancards so they had to have a method of getting loads back after the game without looking obvious. This could all be bollocks, my mate was telling me the other day that he'd spoken to a kop steward, who'd been told to turn a blind eye to it. His theory was they were measuring the prevalence this year to see how much they can raise tickets by next season, or take all the tout's tickets back in one go.
I suppose it makes sense. If you spend a couple of hundred or more on a tout site and a phone with the ticket on it turns up at your door, they've still made a decent profit.
