1. Reina's recent errors haven't affected him at all. He is fucking awesome.

2. Konchesky was very good.

3. Mereiles looked very good when he came on.

To counteract that though, Johnson put the WORST performance I have ever seen from him ever in today. Shocking.

Spot on.

But that's it.

1. We already know that.
2. Need to see more of him.
3. Having Lucas and Poulsen sent off and playing with 9 men would have been an improvement so the 'improvement' that Meireles brought doesn't count for much. Let's see more of him.

Plus I can see this being our formation in the coming weeks

-------------Gerrard---Meireles---------------
---Maxi------------Cole-----------Jova-------
--------------------Torres---------------------

It simply has to be.

The other plus from the season generally is all the points dropped by Man City, Spurs and Aston Villa. We *might* just be able to scrape fourth if Roy can stop picking such a shit midfield.

Although hopefully without Maxi and Jovanovic.

Maybe Im not in the best frame of mind to look at things objectively right now. That was another rubbish performance with the same old problems on display and our new manager appears to be even more reluctant to change things than our last one.

Next week is going to be awful.

The result itself was not very bad. Birmingham has only lost two games at home for about two years.

Its the way we played. I was not sure who was the bigger club. This has been the case for the last two games.

Good point (though I hope Roy wasn't thinking along those lines before the game).

1. But we didnt know if it would effect him.
2. He didnt say that, he said he was very good today. Which is true.
3. No, what god23 said originally is correct. Your just arguing for the sake of arguing on all 3 points!

I'm just clutching at straws because I didn't enjoy that game at all.

1. Yeah, we'll know he's awesome, but it's nice to see him on top form after his recent mistakes.
2. I didn't say that Konchesky is going to be our Ashley Cole or something, I said he had a good game, which I think he did.
3. I never compared Mereiles to Lucas or Poulsen, I said I thought he looked very good when he came on, which he did.

Well two of his signings are good then...which is a good ratio!

Also
* Gerrard really worked hard as captain and was almost the difference
* we were much more interested in going forward in the second half..(instead of being dominated in the first)
* Not many clubs come away with points from McLeish's Brum
* Carragher did well, in what I saw.

What is there to argue? I'm simply pointing out that these are hardly pluses. Konchesky was good in the 2nd half, that's hardly a plus in a dire dire performance. And Meireles looked good? Based on what? 10 mins?

Stop clutching at straws please.

Meireles showed more canny movement in 10 minutes than most of our players did in 90. He'll be a proper player for us.

Not arguing with that. Playing CM in the EPL is however as challenging a thing as there can be for a professional footballer, as Aquilani found out. We need to see a lot more of Meireles before we pronounce him as our saviour.

How are they not pluses?

Reina hasn't let his errors (Arsenal and Argentina) effect him which is a good sign.
Konchesky settled in well at LB and was doing fine til he went off.
Meireles looked better in ten mins than Lucas and Poulsen did for the previous 80. He seems like he will improve our game which is a plus.

I think we should bear in mind that Maxi has hardly had a look in so far this season. Admittedly, he was poor today, but after he got a run in the side, he was one of our better players at the back end of last season. I certainly wouldn't write him off at this stage.

Besides, Roy doesn't like scoring away from home anyway. It's too risky.

Who ever said he was the saviour, he looked good when he came on. Whats the fuck is wrong with a statement like that!

Pah, I'm hardly arguing on merits, am I? Just advocating a dose of pessimissm. Optimism is not going to be worth much this season.

Apologies, I have clearly forgotten that I referred to Mereiles as our saviour. Oh wait...

Did I say you did? No, I didn't. You know I'm sort of excited that we might have a better player than Lucas and Poulsen in midfield too. It's just hard to be too excited in such times, you know.

Meireles looked more comfortable in those 10 minutes than Aquiliani ever did in any game.

I reckon he'll do just fine.

Plus, I've heard he loves bread and fish, being from Lusitania and all that.

This cycle of hatred has been going for what seems like forever. It's astounding really, no sooner does a massive useless cunt of a player that I hate leave, some other fucking cunt arrives to take his place; now we have Cunt 2/ Crapsen for me to despise.

Maxi is a fucking waste of time too. He might look ok in a team of fucking superstars but in our team he looks like a relaxed passenger because he is.
