They did this time last year.

True but not quite to this extent. Walker and Mendy have added so much power and pace bombing on from full back, De Bruyne has gone up a level and Jesus is fully integrated into the team and banging the goals in.

Bigger tests to come of course and still question marks over their defence but I hope they run away with it...obviously prefer them to win it than United.

Everyone got up in arms about how much Everton spent this summer but they haven't really improved their squad, have they? Without Lukaku to fill the net they've not got much at all.

Yup, I said it all summer. They bought 4 attacking mids, 2 unproven strikers, an average defender, and zero pace.

They could be fucked this year

The bookies have massively slashed the odds On Koeman being sacked.

The rumour mill claims he was nicked with a brass in Ellesmere Port last week.

I said to me mate he's as at risk as bilic, and that's before I heard any rumours

I saw parts of the game between ManU and Everton. My thoughts:-

1) If we had defended like Man U for long periods of the game - there would be a riot on this site.
2) Everton seem to do what we did against Man City after the second goal - except they did it with a full team, and within a space of 5 minutes.
3) Not convinced by Man U.

Also one thing to note for many of you here - Man City - they had a very good start last season (and the season before) like this season - usually they sort of get too relaxed after 5 to 8 games - so they may draw the next game or even lose it. Some hope.

I can understand it - he does look a bit strange plus the way he speaks - I can't imagine any woman wanting to willingly give him pleasure.

Immobile's winning goal against Genoa was fucking delicious.
What a finish!

Watched the game, Genoa has a young striker, looked like he's destined for great things.

Lucas started btw, and was pretty meh. Except for one vital interception in the dying minutes of the game.

Yeah, The Bitters are not known for their patience, or reticence in making their dissatisfaction known. And that run of results and performances has certainly badly dented any pre-season confidence they had.

It does seem odd that he sold Lukaku and didn't really replace his goals. As everyone knows, a striker who can get you 20 goals a season is worth a FORTUNE and if you have any ambition as a club to win trophies, you need one. I'm not saying the Bitters are at that level now - or indeed ever - but there's been a decent level of investment at Everton and that raises expectations.

They also seem horribly one-paced, and again the importance of pace in the Premiership seems to be another lesson Koeman has ignored. Tom Davies, Gylfi and Rooney are not quick at all, so they become congested and overwhelmed by defenders by not being able to break at speed.

Defensively, they are all over the place too, with Keane and Williams playing too deep and looking clueless, and their CM not functioning at all.

It should get better, as they do have some decent players, but Koeman needs to fix this quick.

As for the brass rumours, it could have been mistaken identity, because he looks more like "Our Graham" every week.

They've already played City, Chelsea and United away and Spurs at home. They did win that one other league game (Stoke at home). While their point tally so far is pretty shit, this has been as hard an opening set of five fixtures as you could have wished them.

If we'd beaten Everton 4-0, there'd be no fucking "riot", no matter how much we defended.

And if we were also top of the league with 16 points, 4 wins and a draw, scoring 16 and conceding two, you'd have to be some sort of fucking spastic to be upset.

If we got 16 points with 4 wins & a draw, we should keep quiet about it & hope the PL statisticians don't notice their mistake

Unfortunately without looking at their overall position ... you would be upset at the defending. You would try and hang yourself with that type of last minute tackling and saves.

Nowhere else for this so : Pogba apparently a grade 3 tear with possible tendon damage and is likely to miss the games against Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and City. Not confirmed but will not be available for our game for sure, Fellaini will likely replace him in midfield.
