[article=http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/theo-walcott-ruled-out-for-six-months]After coming off injured in Saturday's 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.

Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Theo a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on a football pitch as soon as possible.[/article]

Blow for Arsenal and England? So much for the 2-0 hand sign. Think Spurs fans might be having a bit of the last laugh now.

Wenger will probably be forced to spend too.

Walcott will be 29 in the next WC. He missed the 2010 one too after being left out by Capello.

He has been the player holding Arsenal together the past month as Rambo and Giroud have both gone AWOL. Arsenal will now need to spend big or they could fall away big time.

I'm now looking forward to their trip to Anfield in a few weeks even more! (unless they sign some big dog, then I will be cowering)

Glad we don't have to face him this season, but feeling sorry for the lad. It's likely he will lose some pace after an injury like that.

Like Walcott, Diaby also tore the ACL in his left knee. Diaby hasn't played for 10 months and not expected back before March.
Desperate news for Walcott but fitness experts say ACLs are not a result purely of ill luck or coincidence. They can be prevented.

Feel for the lad as no one deserves a bad injury like that. The smugness of the Spurs fans tells you more about those cunts imho

It didn't look that serious or painful at the time, this seems strange. Perhaps his stupid 2-0 gesture provoked the coin throwers which then rained down upon the minimum wage stewards carrying him off the pitch. One of them might have thought you know what, fuck off you smug little cunt, and pulled off a ninja like snap and twist of his knee. Well in if that was the case.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Hendo and Sterling making the WC squad at the moment. Sterling's been as good as anybody this last month, with more end product than Townsend.

I wonder if Lucas/Coutinho make the cut for Brazil though.

Just got him in my FF team as well. Shame for the lad and he really is a big part of the England set up so that sucks balls. I'm never one to revel in an opposition injury (that shit has a funny habit of coming back and biting you on your arse) - I'll let the Spurs fans reap that karma thanks 😉
