Pepe Reina hailed the battling qualities of his Liverpool teammates after the Reds held off a strong challenge from Fulham to move up to seventh place in the Barclays Premier League.
An own goal from John Pantstil secured a second victory on the spin for Kenny Dalglish's side and the Spanish stopper was delighted with a successive clean sheet.
"Fulham are a really competitive team and are well organised. It was a massive three points for us," Reina told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"Sometimes you need a little bit of luck and we certainly deserved this bit of fortune with the goal.
"They pushed us hard right until the end and put us under a lot of pressure but we defended well and I thought we were pretty solid overall.
"It's nice to keep two clean sheets in a row and it's very important.
"A good team is built from the back and having a strong backline, and if you have this then you will have more chances to win more games."
The Spanish stopper also spoke about how much he is enjoying working under Dalglish.
He added: "It's an exciting time and we still have half of the season remaining so there are a lot of points at stake.
"We want to get as high as we possible can in the league and we still have the Europa League to come.
"The league is really competitive and we have to keep this up."

Dalglish's side now face a weekend break before next Wednesday's visit of Stoke City to Anfield and Reina hopes the Reds can continue their resurgent form.
"We will enjoy some time now with our family and then on Saturday get back to work and get ready for the next game. Our target is another three points against Stoke.
"Stoke is always a tough game and it's always a nightmare to face the long throw which is one of their main strengths but we will only worry about our own strengths and worry what we do."
