I've said this before on here (I think), but anyway. While I have no interest or reason to celebrate or indeed mark the fourth of July as a date, it does amaze me sometimes the huge lack of appreciation for just HOW MANY ace things, people, places....just stuff in general, really, comes from the USA.
Films, art, authors, music, food, TV, comedy, comics, advertising, New York, Space Mountain.....whatever. So many of my favourite things were born (or popularised) in the USA.
There's nothing the US can't do is there? Can anyone think of anything that the US can't do well? Apart from gun control? And reining in it's natural rapacity and greed?
Watches, maybe. The Swiss have them all sewn up. And maybe cars. Germany has them beat there.
List your favourite things about America. Or something they do well. Or not well.
It's so often demonised by people around the world. It isn't perfect, no. But it's better than almost everywhere too. I think it's a great place, really.
