Is this the death of the stupid assed transfer windows?
I know City have gone big, but them aside (and a bit of early Barcelona/Madrid activity) what has happened to the transfer merry-go-round?
Its almost non existent. Is there going to be a mad rush in the last few days of the window, or is this it? Is this the way it will be now?
Its realy strange to see NO ONE signing anyone.

I love transfer windows, but there are too many clubs who are heavily in debt and broke at the moment for things to be interesting.

I think we're waiting for a big transfer in the Premiership to kick things off. If City get Milner, then that could have a domino effect.

The strangest thing is Spurs, who always have money to spend. And have spent nothing.

Yeah, it's been oddly quiet, hasn't it? There aren't even any major rumours left, now that Torres and Fabregas have committed to Liverpool and Arsenal. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Mascher stay after all this.

There are bound to be some deals made in the second half of August, but it's definitely a bit of an anticlimax after the Real Madrid spending spree of last summer.

Just noticed spurs haven't signed anyone but released 7..

They had way too many players anyway. And with the 25 man squad and 8 homegrown one shouldnt be surprised!

City will most definetly have to trim their squad a head of the new season, that would have an effect during the window I reckon.

Its an odd situation... the clock is ticking in terms of getting the squad prepared for the new season..

I think most of the smaller teams are waiting to see what the bigger clubs do - For instance - If Man City sign a couple more strikers there will be a few very unhappy players at City demanding a move - The smaller clubs will then stand a decent chance of snapping a quality player for way under their perceived valuation..

If we sign a quality left back Insua will be available...
