That's insane - but quite a few leagues are doing this in the US (NFL etc)
Least it's not us!
Yeah saw that. Guess its a lot closer than the US though! They played their equivalent of the charity shield in Morocco too.
I've thought about this before and again now, and I can't think of any fair way of doing this that people won't be able to point at come the end of a season. That's before you get into fucking the fans over etc.
Thats what I would do. Sell that shit for MAD money for chariteePlay the charity shield over there, no one gives a shit about it. Job done

Not sure. Some Manc friends were creaming themselves when they won it last. All about some first game first trophy shit related to Jose. Boy have they gone silence in their worship.
More importantly … has @Woland got a premium subscription to the FT?
Bullshit. I don’t know any football fan, manc or not that cares about that trophy. You talk some crap you do.
How would every team be in the same boat? Half of them would be sacrificing 'home advantage' and the other half wouldn't.Only a matter of time surely.
Maybe it could result in the first round of fixtures being overseas so everyone is in the same boat
Cos it's a league game.I can't understand the fuss. It's one game a season. And if for charity - brilliant.
Anyone know where the money from the community shield goes?
Anyway, you know the PL will follow suit soon
make it the first or last game of the season. Probably the first and it's a cinch.
Cos it's a league game.
OK, so say its next season already. This season we once again go undefeated at home all season. We play City 'at home' first game of the season in Miami. We get beat.
We then lose the league by two points despite being unbeaten in every other league game at home once again.
Could you understand the fuss then?
It's simply impossible to make it fair.
What if they make both games for the same fixture in USA, and also same amount of times for every club. So for your example say if LFC vs. City both “home” and “away” fixtures played over there. And other clubs during that season also have 2 games of the same fixtures played outside UK. Would that be fair?
