Yeah, he's lovable. Just a shame he doesn't play more games.

PLEASE!

Perhaps it's just me with my FM hat on, but i'd think we'd stand more of a chance of winning trophies with 4 top class 20m players over 1 80m pound player (and he's only valued at that amount for the next 2-3 years if his form continues).

If Torres went, we'd make new heroes on the kop.. that's just what supporters do.. and with the money we get we'd bring in a top quality replacement. Fergie has done it, Wenger has done it, Jose has recently done it.. selling their top striker/player and bringing someone else equally good or at least almost as efficient in.

I do remember when Owen was valued at £50m after he hit that hattrick in Munich. The papers were full of it. If only we had sold him then.. *sigh*

P.s. Nando is my favourite player, but i'd rather be singing songs about how many trophies we've won than singing how we've "got the best striker/goalkeeper/defensive mid/support striker" in the world whilst winning nothing.

Sadly, I'm inclined to agree

As one of the biggest clubs around if we can't raise £10M to transfers following a 09/10 Season where we had a NET SPEND of £3M then we're royally fucked.

I'll asume in the following that we are indeed not.

OUT
Skrtel £8M
Riera £6M
Benayoun £6M
Babel £9M
Aurelio Free
Youngsters like perhaps Spearing, Plessis; Darby, Barragan (or was it San Jose) and a few more £5M

£34M

IN
Kjaer £9M
Jovanovic Free
Joe Cole Free
Arda Turan £12M
Christian Eriksen £14M
LB £8M (Taiwo perhaps)?

£43M

Done.

That would make my summer! Sadly it won't happen.. Cole would be valued at 10mill for his signing fee and whatnot.. Maybe take out Eriksen to make it more realistic but even then it's a tall order. Can't see Benayoun going.. Although a Skrtel for Kjaer would excite me

Joe Cole would surely have an astronomical signing on fee if a chump like Chamakh is anything to go by?

If we spend £9m on a CB I'll be rather unhappy. It's not football manager... why swap a decent CB for another CB?

I'll be fuming if we waste any money on another CB. And to think we stand a chance of getting David Villa smacks of detachment from reality.
