The Sakho myth

I'm surprised at the love for Sakho. He seriously looks like an accident waiting to happen. He makes numerous mistakes - Hospital balls and brain farts all over the place. So far though nothing of note has come of it though so I guess I'm in the minority. The OP is known for his histrionics (happily he's got me on ignore so he can't see me calling him a shouty bellend) Sakho does look awkward. Any numpty can see that. It is true though that his team mates have a lot of faith in him as he seems to be the key defensive outlet. Hey ho. Of course I'm happy so long as he he doesn't fuck up big time - Which up until now he hasn't.

He does look awkward, and his passing is at times a bit too hard but he does at least generally find his and an often look forwards. Wasn't it a Sakho overhit pass to Stevie that caused his miscontrol & slip?

I rate Sakho in the defense though - he brings added presence that is needed so with him and Skrtel bullying attackers we have Can to just be a complete hero alongside.

Ha ha! As it happens I was thinking of posting my lobster bisque recipe soon.

Seriously though I do like him - Carra calls him a 'beast' and he's not done anything that bad but you have to admit there is something slightly hap-hazard about his style of play. Thing is though he does get the job done which I guess is all that really matters.

Lobster Bisque....... Ice Cream.....

This is skating close to an intervention Red.....

I remain unconvinced by Sakho, he has had some good games for us but he still gives me the jitters too often.

It's not a myth that Sakho looks awkward with the ball, he does. And him looking awkward invites pressure on himself that he wouldn't have if he looked more comfortable.

It is a myth that he can't pass, but I'm not sure that anyone has said that, but then again I don't listen to much media analysis.

Some on here have said it, Gerry, tho' it is indeed a myth, a lazy assumption based on the fact that he sometimes moves awkwardly in possession.

I'm sure his style does invite extra pressure, but I haven't noticed opposition teams keeping that up for very long and really playing on him throughout a game. Maybe they try it, come up against a brick wall with him and think again.

Bolaisse (sp?) dribbled towards him recently and just allowed his run to tail off. He took one look at Sakho and forgot the ball. Love Sakho. I was wary of him at first as I felt he invited pressure but he's a class act distributing the ball. He is often under a little bit of pressure as our other defenders seems to work the ball towards to him to ping forward. He really fancies his strength too. This has caught him out once or twice and those are the moments being highlighted and magnified by the media and certain fans. He just needs to continue to make good decisions on the ball as we don't want to revisit any of those 'mad moments' from the first half of the season.

True but 9 times out of ten Gerrard controls that and doesn't slip.

Both valid points. I'm totally pro-Sakho anyway and agree with Gerry that yes he does look awkward but no he isnt a bad passer. Love the guy!

Now I appreciate that coincides with our change in system, but it's still decent to see

Teams seem to attack more on his side but whether that is down to their perception of his weaknesses or down to the muppet playing in front of him is a moot point.

Clive 'someone please, please, please shoot me in the cock' Tyldsley...

Ahahahahahahahahahaha!

Sakho's like the bird in the club who dances like a bit of a knobhead, but get her home and she's got the body of Jessica Alba and fucks like a train.

You have to look a bit deeper, but once you do, you realise he's a very good CB and could go on to be among the best in the world. I have a lot of confidence in Sakho.
